Gamertell Review: Avenue Flo for PC and Mac
PlayFirst’s Avenue Flo is unquestionably a good and interesting addition to the Dash series of games. Thanks to titles like Diner Dash, Wedding Dash, Diaper Dash, DinerTown Detective Agency and DinerTown Tycoon, fans have been able to enjoy classic casual game genres like time management, hidden object and stategic simulation. With Avenue Flo, the Dash series moves into the realm of point-and-click adventures.
Quinn, star of the Wedding Dash games, is having an absolutely horrible day. She’s working on a huge wedding that’s supposed to be happening today. Supposed is the key word. The problem is, absolutely everything is going wrong, and it’s too much for her to handle alone. Thankfully Flo, star of the Diner Dash games, is her best friend and willing to help out so Quinn isn’t humiliated and the wedding can go on.
So, players must assist Flo in her endeavor to set things right. Basically, she’s an errand girl…
Casual Friday: Update for October 10 – 16, 2009
Today marks yet another week where hidden object puzzles are king. This is also the second week in a row where PlayFirst is kind of letting down its regular customers. Only two brand new game made its debut there, Avenue Flo, an adventure/hidden object game starring the characters from the famous DinerTown series, and Agatha Christie: Dead Man’s Folly, a hidden object game where you have to solve a murder. Hopefully, things will pick up next week.
There are also two new spooky casual games to help people prepare for Halloween. Both are hidden object games, Ghost Town Mysteries: Bodie and Campfire Legends: The Hookman.
In other big casual news, the PC version of the WiiWare and iPhone/iPod Touch game Equilibrio has been released as a free download this week. You can pick up it and a level editor to make your own mazes! It’s a welcome surprise.
This week’s best bets are: Avenue Flo (PC, Mac) and Equilibrio (PC)…
