Toys R Us’ July 10-16 ad has game bundle and budget game deals
Toys R Us’ ad for July 10-16, 2011 has a little in common with the Best Buy ad for next week. There’s a similar, general game deal and console deal. So where you shop next week basically depends on what kind of games you want or if you want to grab some music game bundles…
No more playable rock stars in Guitar Hero 6
Following lawsuits filed by the likes of Courtney love and No Doubt, Activision has decided to not include any playable celebrities in Guitar Hero 6. The lawsuits issued weren’t just because an artists likeness was in the game, but rather the songs players were allowed to perform with their avatars. For example No Doubt were led to believe they would only be featured in three songs in Band Hero.
Pre-Black Friday Deal: Get $40 Amazon credit with purchase of Hero music game
Amazon’s next gaming deal as the site counts down to Black Friday is all about the music. If you’ve been waiting for prices to drop on some of Activision’s music rhythm games including Band Hero, Guitar Hero 5 or DJ Hero, Amazon is the place you want to go.
Starting November 21, 2009, until 11:59 p.m. Pacific time next Thursday (November 27, 2009) Amazon is offering a $40 store credit when you purchase either DJ Hero, Band Hero, Band Hero Super Bundle or Guitar Hero 5 at regular price.
All $49.99 Wii games buy 2 get 1 free at Target this week
If you haven’t got any plans for tomorrow (November 1, 2009) and you’ve either got a Wii or have friends with Wiis, you may want to take a quick trip to your local Target. The store is going to have a one week Wii game sale. When you purchase two $49.99 Wii games, you’ll get a third game for free. Yes, we’ve seen this promotion before, but Target’s is noteworthy because it applies to 80 Wii games in stock. As you can see from the ad scan image at the right, games like Wii Sports Resort, Super Smash Bros, Bakugan, Drawn to Life, Rabbids Go Home and Spore Hero are among some of the applicable titles.
The other major video game promotion in this week’s Target ad starts November 3, 2009. If you go in and purchase the $199.99 Band Hero bundle for the PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii, you’ll get a $20 Target gift card to go with it.
Seems like this could be becoming an annual event at the retailer…
Activision explodes with four music game announcements
Activision should consider changing its company name to something like Guitar Hero Incorporated, because that seems to be the company’s main focus lately. Don’t believe me? Consider the latest announcement. Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero: Van Halen, DJ Hero and Band Hero are all coming to a console near you. Guitar Hero: Van Halen is tentatively scheduled for a release in the second half of 2009, but the rest of the games should be in stores this fall.
See that controller in the picture on the right? That’s what you’ll be using to play DJ Hero. The game lets players make remixes of popular songs and will feature music from a number of diverse genres, among them R&B and dance. While Guitar Hero fans will probably enjoy the gameplay, the music could help lure in a whole new legion of fans.
Guitar Hero 5 is the next installment of Guitar Hero…
