Be Batman on the go with Batman: Arkham City Lockdown

I bet you thought Batman’s work was done after Batman: Arkham City. That once that game’s main storyline ended, all the major bad guys just disappeared and everything was peaceful once again. Well, it doesn’t work like that. Which is why a game like Batman: Arkham City Lockdown exists. Batman has been called upon to fight some of Gotham City’s worst bad-guys.

Batman: Arkham City Lockdown is an iOS exclusive…

Batman: Arkham City won’t grace PCs until the end of November

While all the PS3 and Xbox 360 owners are donning the cowl and and beating up bad guys around Arkham City, those poor PC gamers are staring at their computers and sighing. You can’t blame them, I mean, it’s kind of tragic when the PC version of a game can’t launch at the same time as its console counterparts. Go ahead and suck up those sighs though, as now there’s a definite November 2011 release date for Batman: Arkham City.

As long as you’re not living in Japan, which doesn’t have a Batman: Arkham City PC release date yet, you’ll be playing the game on your computers in two weeks….

Opinion: Arkham City exemplifies everything that’s wrong with the online pass

The online pass was already about as enjoyable as a personal visit from Jack Thompson. The execution of online features in Batman: Arkham City shows why the passes are often more trouble than they’re worth. Arkham City is receiving stellar reviews but some of the DLC is causing issues more frustrating than Riddler challenges.

Batman: Arkham City’s Catwoman will require online pass or purchase from GameStop

Catwoman is known for being sneaky but this is ridiculous.

The Catwoman content in Batman: Arkham City will require the game to be purchased brand new or the use of a VIP pass for 800 Microsoft Points or $10. Eurogamer got a tip and confirmed with Arkham City publisher Warner Bros. Those who purchase a new copy of the game or the online pass get four story missions in which Catwoman is playable. Those players will also have access to Catwoman in the “Riddler’s Revenge” Challenge Mode. Warner Bros. noted it is possible to complete the game without playing as Catwoman.

HeroClix Online now includes Marvel Infinity Challenge

Perhaps the most beloved off all of Wizkids’ tabletop games was HeroClix, a miniatures game that featured battles between comic book characters including Batman, Judge Dredd and even Santa. Collectible miniatures games, even those with high sales and beloved by fans, just don’t seem to survive and HeroClix was no exception, ceasing production after a mere six years.

Deadshot joins villainous cast of Batman: Arkham City

Rocksteady Studios was not kidding when its press materials talked about making Batman:Arkham City even bigger than Arkham Asylum. The number of villains in play just keeps increasing, ranging from time-honored Bat enemies such as Mr. Freeze to lesser known DC Universe bad guys. Deadshot, the latest villain revealed for the game, falls into the second category.

My name is Freeze and I’m in Batman: Arkham City

Batman is going to put in some serious overtime in Arkham City. Already confirmed to appear in the adventure are Two-Face, Catwoman and Bane, although this time he’s on your side, it seems. In the latest trailer for the Warner Bros. game, dare I say there’s a chill in the air?

Batman to get some unexpected help in Arkham City

Arkham City is going to be a rough place, without question. Since it’s a section of Gotham City just handed over to the bad guys under the condition they stay there, even Batman is going to need some backup

Rocksteady is allowing you to call in some extra muscle that will be very familiar to Batman faithful. Bane, the Venom-using freak of nature who is big enough to break the Bat (and has) will fight alongside him in Batman: Arkham City. Go Nintendo reports on the unlikely teamup.

E3 2011: Gotham City Impostors tear up the town

Rocksteady Studios has done an excellent job of bringing Gotham City to life with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Monolith Productions wanted to take the Bat-franchise in a different direction and doesn’t even need Batman to do it.

Gotham City Impostors, as the name suggests, is about people who aren’t Batman but dress up like him and cause mayhem. There’s an opposing faction, of course, emulating The Joker. Warner Bros. was so impressed with Monolith’s idea that DC Comics’ Jim Lee wrote a Detective Comics story about these bizarre characters. Remember the guys in The Dark Knight wearing Batsuits made from hockey pads? That’s the level of technology we’re dealing with here.

E3 2011: Batman: Arkham City will feature playable Catwoman

Superhero games have a long, storied tradition of not living up to already lowered expectations – see the recent Thor game as a prime example. That’s why Rocksteady Studios’ Batman:Arkham Asylum floored us with its quality. It wasn’t just a great licensed game, but a legit Game of the Year contender in 2009. That kind of success comes with pressure. How do you follow up arguably the best superhero game ever? All indications so far is that Rocksteady is up to the challenge.
