JTT 3DS battery may be worth importing
There’s one consistent problem that plagues 3DS owners. No, it isn’t lack of worthwhile games, as that was remedied in the second half of 2011. It’s the battery life. If you’re still playing with the stock battery, you’re probably feeling lucky if you’re able to play for four hours without recharging. It’s disgraceful. Thankfully, third more »
Nyko Power Grip supposedly lasts 3x longer than the standard 3DS battery
Nyko has a new 3DS battery solution out just in time for the holiday shopping season. Which is a smart idea, since it means people may just buy it along with the 3DS they’re picking up as a gift. Anyways, this model is called the Power Grip and is supposed to last three times as long as the included 3DS battery once you attach it to your system. The “grip” part stems from the fact that it’s not only an extra battery, it’s also an ergonomic grip. Again, another pretty good idea, since some adults using the system may have a little hand cramping if a play session lasts too long.
The Nyko Power Grip installs pretty much the same way as the Hyperkin Powerplus…
Review: Hyperkin Powerplus battery for 3DS
The absolute worst thing about the 3DS is the battery life. People who use it at its best are lucky to get three hours of battery life, leading people to cut corners however possible, using minimum settings and adjusting usage to make the charge last as long as possible. This has led a number of third party peripheral manufacturers to step up with alternatives. Hyperkin’s 3DS Powerplus is one of those other power possibilities. However, the Powerplus is more of a last minute supplement for players, rather than a device to replace or compliment the existing 3DS battery…
Vita’s battery should last 3-5 hours
There’s nothing more frustrating than a handheld system you have to keep recharging. The last generation, the PSP was the one you couldn’t really take on long trips, because it typically lasted between 3-6 hours. At first, it seemed like the 3DS was going to be the battery hog of the next generation with it’s 3-5 hour battery lifespan, but that’s not the case. We have a tie!
After Sony’s pre-TGS 2011 conference, the company revealed the Vita’s DC3.7v/2200mA lithium ion battery will last 3-5 hours, if you’re playing a Vita game…
CTA Digital releases external 3DS Portable Power Battery Pack
We all know the 3DS has battery life issues. Depending on the brightness and 3D level you set, you could only get a little over two hours of playtime. So many accessory companies have been stepping up to make things easier for consumers, and CTA Digital’s the most recent. Unlike Nyko and Hyperkin though, with their Power Pak+ and Powerplus, CTA Digital’s got an external Portable Power Battery Pack for 3DS owners lamenting their system’s battery life.
Basically, the Portable Power Battery Pack is a portable charger…
Hyperkin’s 3DS Powerplus doubles battery life
Like Nyko, Hyperkin is stepping up to aid 3DS owners who are tired of charging their handheld every night because the battery is already drained. It is now working on the 3DS Powerplus. Yup – it’s another battery. Trust me, as a 3DS owners this is something to be excited about.
If you have the Powerplus replace what your 3DS comes with, you get a 1800mAH battery instead of a 1300mAH one. That means the battery life of your system will be at least doubled after you install it and power it up…
Gamertell Review: Penguin United’s 4x Quad Charge Station for WiiMotes
Product: 4x Quad Charge Station for WiiMotesPrice: $44.99Rating: One thumb up, one thumb sideways; 80/100; B-; * * * out of five.Pros: Charges four WiiMotes at once, removable power cable, looks pretty cool and works well.Cons: No wrist strap slots, difficult to read charge status LEDs and sometimes hard to properly seat the WiiMotes.Overall: A good option for those who like to have four charged WiiMotes at the ready. Not for finicky, power-conscious gamers.
Keeping your wireless controllers ready and charged can be a problem for some gamers. You have the odd controller sitting around that invariably loses its charge mid game and you have to either plug it in and wait (and usually watch everyone else continue with the fun) or scurry around the house like a squirrel in the Spring unearthing scattered batteries.
Accessory and peripheral maker Penguin United has attempted to solve the problem for Wii owners with the 4x Quad Charge Station. It charges four WiiMotes at once, which is nice, but the setup does have a few flaws…
PSP-3000′s battery life won’t be shorter than previous PSPs
It was only a week ago that Sony’s Hardware Marketing Director John Koller announced in a GameSpot video that the PSP-3000 (aka PSP brite) would have a shorter battery life than previous PSP units. Today (September 3, 2008), Koller issued a statement on PlayStation.Blog saying that the PSP-3000′s battery life will be equal to that of the original PSP and PSP slim.
In the latest statement, Koller confirms that the new, brighter screen will require more battery power, but that the system is being crafted in such a way that everything else will use less power. He goes on to say the PSP-3000 will last for between four and six hours if you’re playing games, and between four and five hours if you’re watching movies – just like the previous PSP models…
Child gets injured by his PSP
A 12-year-old child from Farmington Hills in Detroit, MI, (USA) has been injured by a PSP he was carrying in his pants pocket. Apparently the device overheated causing serious burns to the child’s leg after burning through two layers of clothing.
Sheilah Clay told WDIV-TV that her son Harold was at school when suddenly he felt his PSP started heating up. The PSP kept getting hotter to the point where it burned through his…
