Battlefield 3′s Xbox 360 two-disc mystery solved
Gamertell previously reported on rumors that the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 would ship with two discs, while the PS3 only had one. In an interview with Gamerzines, Battlefield 3 executive producer Patrick Bach explained the purpose for the mysterious second disc.
Rumor: Battlefield 3′s Xbox 360 version will contain two discs
Gematsu is reporting that a Japanese game poster confirms a two-disc Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3. This has led to speculation that one disc will contain the single-player campaign while the other would house multiplayer. The PS3 version appears, as one would expect, on a single Blu-ray disc. Rumors place the game at 15 gigabytes, around 6 gigabytes more than a 360 disc holds. Games such as L. A. Noire came on multiple discs as well, so this isn’t new territory for 360 owners.
EA exec continues to trash talk Modern Warfare 3
A Gamescom 2011 call to end EA’s anti-Modern Warfare rhetoric apparently fell on deaf ears. EA Labels head Frank Gilbeau told CVG that the Call of Duty franchise hasn’t had any real competition in years.
Gamescom 2011: Activision exec calls for less mudslinging, more innovation
EA’s trash talk hyping Battlefield 3 over Modern Warfare 3 has turned heads through the industry. Activision CEO of publishing Eric Hirshberg took time in his Gamescom 2011 keynote address to say the mudslinging isn’t helping anyone make better games. Hirshberg didn’t mention any names, but didn’t really need to. When Hirshberg noted a competitor said he wanted to see the Call of Duty franchise “rot from the core,” it was obvious he referred to comments made by EA CEO John Riccitiello.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 gets PS3 patch, Xbox 360 update coming
An update for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, one of the most popular shooters going, is now live for PlayStation Network gamers.
Among the changes are increased penalty points for team killing and team damage, complemented by increased reward points for completing mission objectives. This is huge because Bad Company 2 is very much about completing objectives as a team. Running around trying to be Rambo in this game just ruins the mission for everybody.
Battlefield Heroes beta ready for redeployment
Fans of the cartoon-style open world warfare-shooter, Battlefield Heroes will get the chance to continue the good fight as Swedish developer EA Dice is set to reopen its closed beta testing servers on February 11, 2009.
It has been just under four months since EA Dice originally shut down the closed beta for Battlefield Heroes, which was originally supposed to be released as a free-to-play download for fans of the popular series late 2008.
The reasoning behind the original shut down was so,,,

“Since the start of this year I’ve been working as executive producer for the entire Battlefield franchise – we’ve got five titles in development at the moment, which is probably more than you expect.”
Gamertell Review: Sandio 3D Game O2 mouse
Product: Sandio 3D Game O2 mouse (aka 3D Motion Controller with Laser Gaming Mouse)Price: $79.99Rating: 5.5/10Pros: A good core laser mouse, comfortable wrist attachment, programmable mini joysticks and cool lookin’ lights.Cons: Not as plug-and-play as promised with certain programs. Programming interface is not very intuitive. Some ergonomic issues as well.Overall: As a regular mouse, this works great but the 3D components are more awkward than necessary. Only consider buying if you have forgiving hands, a strong wrist and lots of patience.
