Bejeweled 2+Blitz removed from the App Store, new Bejeweled incoming

EA and PopCap didn’t do a very good job at fully explaining what is going on with Bejeweled 2+ Blitz for iOS. Sometime today or tomorrow, Bejeweled 2 +Blitz will be pulled from the App Store and replaced with two other Bejeweled games. If you’ve already downloaded Bejeweled 2+ Blitz in the past, you’ll still be able to re-download it by going through your iTunes purchase history. If you didn’t already download the game, it will never be made available to you.

Bejeweled 3 launches today, all hope for productivity lost

PopCap has unleashed Bejeweled 3. Around the world, people are at work or school, stealthily downloading a trial. Or maybe they’re hunched over their computer playing, checking every couple minutes to make sure someone in charge won’t catch them as they match colorful gems over and over again. They don’t need to worry, I’m sure the bosses and teachers are in their offices, playing Bejeweled 3 too.

Zuma Blitz to be released on Facebook

PopCap has announced that a version of their game Zuma will be available on Facebook. The game is titled Zuma Blitz and will debut in about three weeks.

PopCap giving away iPads, notebook PC to Bejeweled lovers

PopCap Games makes some very popular products, with its flagship title being the puzzle game Bejeweled. That little gem stacker, if you can believe it, is ten years old.

The “Show Your Bejeweled Love” giveaway challenges fans to submit a YouTube video singing the game’s praises in two minutes or less. The contest runs until May 26, 2010, but only those in the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec – sorry, eh) and the United Kingdom are eligible. Prizes include a notebook PC and two Bejeweled 10th Anniversary engraved iPads. You may now begin drooling.

PopCap brings Bejeweled Blitz to PCs, for a price

If you love the free Facebook game Bejeweled Blitz so much that you’d actually want to pay for it, then you’re going to love PopCap’s latest news. There is now a $19.95, PC edition of Bejeweled Twist.

You’re probably wondering why someone would pay almost $20 for a game that could be played for free. Well, the PC version of Bejeweled Blitz does have some perks. First, you get one million coins with it, which you can spend on Blitz Boosts that’ll boost your score. If you run out, which may seem unimaginable given how many coins you get with the game, you can earn more by either playing Bejeweled Blitz or spending real money on them. MumboJumbo wins $4.6 million judgment against PopCap Games

MumboJumbo LLC recently (January 25, 2010) announced that a Dallas jury has awarded it $4.6 million in damages from former business partner Popcap Games.

The case stems from a 2006 agreement in which MumboJumbo was to produce, distribute and sell certain PopCap games in North America. MumboJumbo alleged that PopCap breached the contract by selling the games on its own. A jury in the 193rd Civil District Court in Dallas County agreed.

PopCap games coming to PlayStation Network

PopCap is known for creating some rather addictive puzzle games that can be played on PC or handheld devices such as an iPhone or DS. Thanks to a deal struck between Sony Online Entertainment and PopCap, five games will be coming to the PlayStation Network in the near future.
