Skyrim 1.4 patch should hit consoles Thursday

skyrim logo

Well that didn’t take too long did it? PC players have been rolling around in Skyrim‘s improved world since the release of patch 1.4 at the beginning of the month, but PS3 and Xbox 360 players are about to get their chance too. Bethesda tweeted not too long ago the PS3 patch for Skyrim should be available more »

Skyrim 1.4 patch available for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 patches coming soon

Skyrim-Solitude

The latest patch for Skyrim is out of voluntary beta and is ready for mass distribution. Bethesda released the version 1.4 update of Skyrim on Steam and it brings a lot of improvements. I really mean that. Bethesda squashed a large number of bugs and patched up just as many quest glitches. As usual, Bethesda released more »

It’s almost here! It’s almost here! Soon, PS3 owners will be able to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with less lag and fewer memory issues! Bethesda has confirmed that patch 1.4 has entered the testing phase this week and, hopefully, will be submited for certification and distribution in a week or so. Oh, and more »

Skyrim’s PS3 lag should fade after update 1.4

the elder scrolls v skyrim ps3

Do you remember what it was like to run through the streets of Whiterun without it turning into some retro-80′s, slow-motion montage? Yeah, me either. But that may not be a problem soon. Bethesda is saying, now get this, that the lag may actually disappear soon! I know, we heard that before the 1.3 Skyrim more »

I avoided the wrath of Skyrim glitches on PS3

I purchased The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim the day it came out. I picked it up for PS3, even though I’m well aware of Bethesda’s tendency to make PS3 ports inferior to that of the Xbox 360. I did this because frankly, I have no idea how much life my Xbox 360 has left in more »

Bioware looks to Skyrim for Dragon Age 3

Oh that Dragon Age series. Dragon Age: Origins is considered epic by many gamers. I’d have to agree, as it got me into BioWare games. However, a lot of people didn’t feel the same about Dragon Age 2. Maybe it was because the sequel focused more on one city, maybe it was the way the hero/heroine had a strong presence, or maybe it was the fact that there were really only about two different dungeons in the game that were recycled ad nauseum. Anyways, BioWare knows Dragon Age 3 has to be pretty darn spectacular to keep the company’s street cred up, and so it’s said in an interview with Wired that it’s looking to Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for ideas…

Xbox 360 Skyrim patch eliminates confused dragons and more [Update]

As entertaining as seeing dragons flying backwards was, it’s time for them to say goodbye. Bethesda has released update version 1.3 for Skyrim on Xbox 360. This patch is also supposed to fix the issue players have been experiencing with magic resistances. Basically, they had none. A mage or dragon could kill you in one hit in some cases. The patch for the PS3 is not up at the moment, but hopefully it will be very soon.

Skyrim’s next patch will “fix” what the last patch broke

Bethesda’s latest patch for Skyrim was meant to cause happiness, but it ended up ushering in frustration and hilarity. Patch 1.2 is notoriously known for breaking the magical resistances of players, while entertaining them with dragons flying backwards. Encountering a mage in Skyrim these days will almost certainly result in death, but this issue and more are expected to be worked out next week when Bethesda releases another patch.

New Skyrim problems emerge following patch

Bethesda’s attempt to fix crippling lag and other problems in the PS3 version of Skyrim hasn’t been as helpful as we’d hoped. Users are reporting even more problems with the game after updating. The Bethesda forums has an ongoing thread filled with players complaining about the lack of magic resistance associated with their characters. Players who were once very resistant to magic have found themselves getting bested by every spell that’s thrown at them.

Read all of Skyrim’s books on your e-reader

Books are extremely common in Skyrim. You can find them just about anywhere from the largest estate, to the coldest caves. There are simply too many books for the average gamer to read while in the game. We’d rather kill dragons and find the best weapons and armor available. However, that doesn’t mean the books in Skyrim are boring. There is some interesting literature to experience if you’re willing to take the time to read it. Thankfully, someone cared enough to compile every book in Skyrim into a single file to read on your Kindle, iPad, Nook or whatever e-reader you have on hand.
