Walmart Black Friday 2008 ad leaked – has plenty of video game deals

One of this season’s most anticipated Black Friday ads for 2008, the Walmart ad, has just been leaked. BlackFriday.info, Black Friday Ads and CAG are all reporting on the various deals in the ad, with both BlackFriday.info and Black Friday Ads offering complete scans of the leaked circular.

While it doesn’t look all that varied at first glance, there are quite a few substantial deals. One of the most prominent sales states that 50 assorted video games will be on sale for under $16. The advertisement doesn’t elaborate on what games will be part of this deal, but five DS games (Barbie: The Island Princess, Ben 10 Defender of Earth, Bratz: 4 Real, Cake Mania 2 and Lego Star Wars II) and seven Wii games (Barbie: The Island Princess, Cooking Mama Cook Off, Game Party, Namco Museum Remix, Spongebob Squarepants: Creature from Krusty Krab, Summer Sports Paradise and Wonder World) are shown in the ad image.

The complete list of video game sales, as taken from the ad circular scan leaked online, are as follows…

Deal of the Day: Buy 2 select games at Amazon and get $25, buy 3 and get $50

In order to get buyers hyped up about Black Friday 2008, Amazon is holding special sales in the video games section leading up to the day. Today (November 19, 2008), the deal offers credits on future Amazon video game purchases when you buy two or three PC, PS3, Wii and/or Xbox 360 games directly from Amazon.

The deal is pretty simple. You select the boxes on the games you want. Once you’ve chosen two or three games, you click the “Add to Cart” button and make your purchase. If you buy two games, you will get a $25 credit on a future Amazon direct game purchase. If you buy three games, you get a $50 credit. You can only take Amazon up on this offer only once, and you can only buy one copy of each game you select.

The 20 titles offered (and their prices) aren’t exactly bargain bin cheap. Some are slightly discounted, but others are still full price. All of the games are recent releases and quality titles, so at least no shovelware is involved. So, the $25 or $50 credit might make it worthwhile for you.

The titles involved in the deal are…

Even Kohl’s might have some video game deals on Black Friday 2008

Kohl’s is probably the last store you think of when go shopping for video games. You still might want to give their ad a once over for Black Friday 2008. A potential ad scan for Kohl’s has just leaked onto the internet, and it does have quite a few video game deals, surprisingly enough.

No specific titles are named, and the only video games pictured in the ad (shown at right) are four Wii and DS titles. The potential ad also shows sales on Scene It?, electronic handheld and LeapFrog games.

The first sale mentioned is on Scene It? games, with Movie Scene It?, Disney 2nd Edition Scene it?, Disney Channel Scene It?, Seinfeld Scene it? and Harry Potter 2nd Edition Scene It? pictured in the ad. The ad states that the games will be $24.99 each.

The next sale is on electronic handheld games from the toy department…

Target’s Black Friday video game sales might hit the mark

As Thanksgiving draws closer, even more of the major retailers’ Black Friday ads leak out. One of the latest scans is for Target, and it features a nice selection of video game deals. While there are a few shovelware-ish titles tossed in, there are some nice deals to be had. Target also seems to have one of the best organized ads, with clearly labeled game and accessory prices. If you’re looking for a gift for a younger gamer, or for someone with a PS3 or Xbox 360, Target may be the place to look.

The various video game deals, as shown in the Black Friday ad scan, are as follows…

Circuit City’s Black Friday 2008 video game deals revealed

Hot on the heels of what may be the Best Buy Black Friday 2008 ad comes Circuit City’s ad. Its filled with sales on quite a few games, though Sony’s PSP, PS2 and PS3 seem a bit under-represented when compared to the DS, Wii and Xbox 360. Even so, it looks like Circuit City, which recently declared bankruptcy, is using Black Friday this year to make a stand.

Before we get into the sale listings, I’d like to make note that the two DS bundles and the PS3 and Xbox 360 Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock bundles are limited sales. They’ll only be reduced from 5am to 11am on Black Friday. All other deals will last for Black Friday and the following Saturday.

The deals from the leaked ad, organized by system, are as follows…

Best Buy’s Black Friday 2008 ad either awesome or hoax

There are two sides to Black Friday ads. There are ones where you can instantly tell they are the real deal, and then there are questionable ads which look authentic, but are just a hoax. The Best Buy 2008 Black Friday ad, which has just popped up on the internet falls into the later category.

If it is real, then there are going to be some fantastic video game deals at Best Buy stores this season. We’ve looked through the ad and created a list of what this “possible” Black Friday 2008 Best Buy’s deals are. Please note that, in a few instances, a games’ title or platform may not be able to be discerned due to the bad quality of the ad scan…
