Cyber Monday 2011: Toys R Us game and tech deals
For the Toy R Us Cyber Monday sale, the online store offers several deals including free games or accessories with console purchase, cheap accessories, buy-one-get-one games and learning system bundles.
There’s also free shipping when you spend $49 or more (which is easy because, let’s face it, it’s Toys R Us and they charge retail). Some of the highlights include…
Radio Shack’s Black Friday 2011 gaming and tech deals
Radio Shack’s print ad for Black Friday was part of the stuffing in this year’s newspaper turkey. OK, so it’s a fat, prize-winning turkey for couponers and deal hunters.
Atari releases massive Dungeon & Dragons bundle as part of Thanksgiving 2011 sale
Dungeons and Dragons‘ value as a brand skyrocketed with the advent of computer gaming, and many titles are classics of the genre, from Pool of Radiance to, well, anything by Bioware. While those old, 2D, turn-based games haven’t aged well, they’re still packed with gaming goodness for anyone not too snooty to play a game with dated graphics. If you missed out on those classics or just want to see some old friends here is some great news: Atari is releasing two massive bundles of D&D games for the 2011 holiday season….
Gamefly gives Thanksgiving discount on used game purchases
Rental service GameFly also sells games, and is getting into this week’s Black Friday shopping action. On its Facebook page, it announced its sale for the biggest shopping week of the year. GameFly will take $12 off the purchase of two or more used games. You can use it to keep games you are currently renting, or to purchase games directly from the site’s store. You do not have to be a GameFly member to purchase games from them. The discount will come up automatically when you add two or more used games to your cart.
GameFly’s used games are guaranteed and come in the original packaging, with instruction manuals and any online pass codes…
Day 3 of Amazon’s 2011 Black Friday Week has even more gaming deals (update 2)
I think we all know the jist by now. Amazon’s going crazy with it’s available deals, turning the whole week into Black Friday Week instead of just having sales on Black Friday itself. Each day, the deals have gotten better and there have been more of them. So you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that the November 23, 2011 deals include 18 lightning deals, over 150 general game and accessory deals and one rather lackluster custom bundle.
We’ll start with the custom bundle, because it’s always better to get disappointment out of the way early…
Toys R Us reveals unannounced Black Friday 2011 in-store mystery deals
If you happened to “like” Toys R Us on Facebook, then a rather interesting album announcement probably showed up in your News Feed last night. It turns out Toys R Us offered its fans a firsthand look at its in-store mystery deal doorbusters! The 11 page ad shows a number of offers that will be on sale between November 24, 2011 and November 26, 2011. Surprisingly, there are quite a few gaming and electronics deals, not to mention the announcement that Toys R Us will have $199 Kindle Fire tablets in stock.
Let’s just jump right into these offline-only Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday deals…
Namco Bandai holding Thanksgiving 2011 sale on iTunes
Maybe this year, you want to get someone something that requires little to no effort on your part. You know, click a button, have the gift automatically deliver itself and just wait for the person to recognize your efforts with a “Thank You” email. Shopping on iTunes for iOS device owning friends seems like the perfect option and Namco Bandai wants to fascilitate your efforts in doing that this year with a Thanksgiving 2011 app sale.
Between now and November 28, 2011, 25 Namco Bandai apps for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch are all on sale. The exact price difference varies, but in most cases the deals are pretty good. And, since only three of them are games that are normally free and require some kind of in-app purchase, it means you have 22 new possible gift options for a loved one.
Let’s go through the whole list of sale games…
Amazon’s Black Friday 2011 Deals Week begins with 23 video game deals
Bracing yourself for one massive day of holiday shopping can be an incredible chore, which is why Amazon is trying to discourage that kind of behavior this year. Starting today, November 21, 2011, it is officially Black Friday Deals Week. That means games will be reduced now through Black Friday, to make things a little less stressful while also offering the opportunity to probably pick up more sale items. The video game section starts the sale off with 21 games and accessories temporarily reduced and a PS3 custom bundle option.
We’ll start off with the games. Oddly enough, two of the items appear in both the Black Friday Deals Week and Deal of the Day sections. I guess Amazon considers them to be extra special. One is The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Collector’s Edition, which comes with a bust, soundtrack and tons of other good stuff. This Windows PC game is normally $129.99, but it’s marked down to $99.99 for the day. The other item in both areas is the Mionix Naos 5000 Laser Gaming Mouse for Windows, which could go pretty well with The Witcher 2. It’s now $64.99 instead of $89.99.
Let’s just go ahead and look at the 21 other game and accessory deals available today….
Peek through Meijer’s leaked Black Friday 2011 ad
I bet you thought the rush of leaked Black Friday ads were over. Well, you were wrong. There are still a few that haven’t shown up, and Meijer is one of them. Was, actually. That’s because now Meijer’s Black Friday 2011 sale ad is online, for people to peruse. It’s worth noting that this store’s as specifically says it will not price-match this year. It also has a large number of items that are doorbusters and will only be on sale from 4am to 12pm on November 25, 2011.
Still, don’t let that discourage you. There are still a few good deals to consider picking up. Let’s look through the lists now! Also, just so you know, all doorbuster items will be noted as such so you’ll know if you have to get to Meijer early for that particular deal…
GameStop’s Black Friday 2011 ad has appeared in the wild
Guess what gamers? It’s time for that ad you’ve probably been anticipating the most, even though it probably won’t have some of the best deals. Yes, it’s the GameStop Black Friday 2011 ad! And yes, rest assured that while there are a few deals, there aren’t any uber awesome sales. But hey, at least there will be over 2,200 GameStop stores opening at midnight on November 25, 2011 so you can run in and spend your money!
We’ll go through this ad with lists, as usual…
