Black and white Wiis to come with Wii Sports Resort after May 9, 2010

Nintendo has just confirmed the rumor that the black Wii will be heading to North American stores. Starting May 9, 2010, all retailers that normally carry Wiis will have both black and white Wiis available. Not only that, but the $199.99 black Wii bundle will include Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, a black remote, a black nunchuk, a black MotionPlus peripheral and, of course, a black Wii.

The best thing about this deal is that no new Wii owner will be left behind.

Rumor: Nintendo bringing North America black Wiis

Wheels are in motion and the inevitable could finally be happening – North America might just be getting its black Wii. Kotaku has reported that multiple retail stores (GameStop and Target among them) have reported signs of a new Wii color.

The raven-colored console has an alleged May 23, 2010 release date, if the rumor is to be believed. The console bundle would cost $199.99, the same price as a white Wii, but would include Wii Sports Resort and the MotionPlus peripheral. Wii Sports, a black remote and a black nunchuk are also packed in the box. Hm, sounds familiar…

Almost every region gets a black Wii except for North America

Those black Wiis are certainly attractive. So slick, shiny and new. It makes it all the more disappointing that North America is one of the only regions so far that won’t be seeing it.

Nintendo just announced today that a limited edition black Wii bundle is going to be released in Europe. This means Japan is no longer the only region to get that special color system. However, it doesn’t sound like it is going to be a permanent member of the Nintendo lineup. It will only be available in a limited edition Wii Sports bundle. It’s essentially a normal Wii, only Wii Sports Resort is included, as well as one black motionplus accessory. The remote and nunchuk that come with the bundle will also be black, to match the console.

A price hasn’t been announced yet, but release dates have. If you live in England, Scotland or Ireland, you’ll be able to get it November 6, 2009. The rest of Europe has to wait until November 20, 2009. Europe will also be able to purchase the black remote, nunchuk and motionplus separately, starting November 20.

There’s one more perk Europe gets too. Not only do Europeans get the black Wii, and the black controllers, but they’ll also be able to get the black classic controller pro…

Monster Hunter Tri on the way to the Wii in 2010

Capcom’s formally announced what many of us already knew thanks to the company’s May investor briefing – Monster Hunter Tri, aka Monster Hunter 3, is going to be released outside of Japan. The game just came out August 1, 2009 in Japan, but residents of North America and Europe will have to wait until the beginning of 2010 for their copies. Since the investor briefing stated it’d be out before the end of the 2009 Fiscal Year, there’s a good chance we’ll see it before the end of March, 2010.

Monster Hunter Tri is a Wii exclusive, designed specifically for the system. It introduces new monsters to hunt, utilizes the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for multiplayer, allows players to hunt underwater…

E3 2009: Nintendo releasing a black Wii, red DSi this Summer in Japan

During the Nintendo E3 keynote, people were wondering whether or not the company was planning to release their mega smash-selling Nintendo Wii in various colors rather than the current standard white.

Nintendo, disappointingly, did not make such an announcement and now we know why – they’re going to release a new shade for both the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DSi on August 1, 2009, and July 11, 2009, respectively, but only in Japan.
