Review: Dead Rising 2 for PS3

People love zombies and hack-and-slash games, so Capcom decided to give people another dose of Dead Rising 2. While the original Dead Rising had more of a journalistic spin, especially with photo assignments, Dead Rising 2 is about getting awesome and unique weapons to take down zombies while also searching for Zombrex and the truth. Plus, there’s multiplayer…

Capcom has shipped 2 million copies of Dead Rising 2

I think it’s fair to say Dead Rising 2 didn’t bomb. It still carries with it that love it or hate it mentality, but it does improve upon some of the original Dead Rising‘s setbacks. After a lot of promotions and positive reviews, Capcom announced it has shipped 2 million units of Dead Rising 2 around the world.

Dead Rising 2 DLC brings more costumes

t’s no surprise Dead Rising 2 will be getting downloadable content after its release on September 28, 2010. The first bits of downloadable content Capcom and Blue Castle Games will release won’t extend the story like Dead Rising 2: Case Zero and Case West. We’re looking at new costumes for Chuck that cater to Dead Rising 2′s outrageous wardrobe collection.

Dead Rising 2: Case West is a gift to Xbox 360 supporters

Dead Rising 2: Case West was announced during the Tokyo Game Show as a Xbox 360 exclusive. Before that, Dead Rising 2: Case Zero was exclusive to the Xbox 360 as well. This has led some PS3 owners to feel slighted by Capcom. After all, Dead Rising 2 is a multiplatform game. Capcom has defended itself by claiming it is not alienating PS3 owners since the main game can be played on both consoles.

TGS 2010: Frank West returns to Dead Rising

Dead Rising 2 won’t be wrapping up any time soon. Capcom announced a new downloadable epilogue for the game called Dead Rising 2: Case West. Frank West, the protagonist from the first Dead Rising will return to team up with Chuck Greene for some zombie slaying fun.

Dead Rising: Case Zero is primed for an August release

Capcom has laid out some solid details on the release date and price of Dead Rising: Case Zero. Similar to what we wrote earlier on the subject, Case Zero will cost 400 MS points ($5) on XBLA. We will finally be able to download this prequel/demo on August 31, 2010. Sadly, Case Zero will not be making an appearance on the PlayStation Network.

Can’t keep a dead man down – Dead Rising 2 is coming

I think we all pretty much knew after Dead Rising‘s success that Capcom was going to be working on a sequel. Now, we’re positive. Capcom’s just announced Dead Rising 2 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Details are still sketchy, and a release window hasn’t been revealed. However, Blue Castle Games will be involved with developing Dead Rising 2 in conjunction with Capcom and some original Dead Rising development team members.

Dead Rising 2 will also not be taking place in a mall. Actually, it will be taking place someplace much, much cooler – a casino…
