Enjoy a Wendy’s kids’ meal with Pac-Man
I know a lot of people who are going to be going to Wendy’s today. One of the best fast food places out there has teamed up with Namco Bandai for a Pac-Man promotion event. It’s partially to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pac-Man series, and part to hype up the latest Pac-Man Wii game, Pac-Man Party. Not that the details matter – what matters is you get Pac-Man toys in your kids’ meals…
Angry Birds Knock on Wood will be out in May
It’s true – one day Angry Birds will take over the world. When birds start bombarding farms and a bacon shortage is declared, we’ll know it’s too late. The next sign of the invasion will appear in May 2011. That’s when Mattel is going to release an Angry Birds board game called Angry Birds: Knock on Wood. As you can see from the image above, it looks a lot like the iPhone game. Well, except it will be $14.99 and the iOS version is 99¢…

On November 3, 2010, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) announced its intention to discontinue the Heroscape line of games and accessories.

Strange reviews accrue for Castle Ravenloft board game, online sparring ensues
One of the most famous Dungeons and Dragons settings is Ravenloft, a dark world ruled by the vampiric Count Strahd. Small World wins three “Best” awards for board games
Small World looked pretty big at the Dice Tower Gaming Awards, winning awards for Best Game of the Year, Best Family Game and Best Game Artwork for board games released in 2009, doubtless making publisher Days of Wonder most pleased.
Small World fits that hard-to-fill place in games, the region where “conquer the world”, “easy rules”, “goofy fun” and “playable in a few hours” all meet in a fantasy theme that is attractive to both adults and children.
Gamertell Review: Risk: Factions for Xbox Live
What happens when you put zombies, yetis, fanatical cats, killer robots and human soldiers together? An all-out war for world domination, of course.
Electronic Arts (EA) has brought that extremely unlikely scenario to pixelated life, pitting wacky faction against each other in a revamped version of the classic Hasbro board game called Risk Factions.
Advance Wars inspires Skirmish Wars: Advance Tactics board game
It has been a while since we’ve seen a new Advance Wars game appear, especially one with the characters from Advance Wars, Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. In times like these, you often have to resort to the next best thing. And in this case the next best thing is a tactical board game called Skirmish Wars: Advance Tactics.
Skirmish Wars: Advance Tactics is what is called a print and play game. That means it’s free, you download all of the necessary map tiles, cards and such, you print it out an then you play. Well, technically it’s not totally free – you’re going to have to pay for all that paper.
Andrew Tullsen, Matthew Kloth and Brandon Pennington are the creators of Skirmish Wars: Advance Tactics, and first released the game on BoardGameGeek in 2009…
Guardians of Graxia is a board and computer game
Petroglyph is working on a game you can play at your computer or away from it. Guardians of Graxia is a strategic game that involves using guardians to try and acquire land on the floating continents of the planet Graxia with their armies. At the same time, you also will have a number of mysteries about the planet and its inhabitants that can only be solved by choosing a guardian and exploring the world.
Both versions of Guardians of Graxia will be released in Summer 2010, but each has its own unique properties. The board game is played using cards, figurines and map tiles, and there will be regular and deluxe versions released. Petroglyph hasn’t announced what bonuses will come with the deluxe version. Both versions of the board game will come with 6 guardian figures and 32 ownership banners for each side. Also, the press release states that the price for the regular edition will be $60, and the deluxe will be $70…
First official Twilight video game will be Scene It? Twilight for the Wii
Konami, how could you? Things looked like they were going so well for you. You’ve got Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker coming out soon, not to mention Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Pop’n Music, SAW The Video Game and a new DDR game. But no, you had to turn to the dark side. You had to bring Twilight to the Wii and DS.
That’s right, Konami’s part of it. It’s teaming up with Screenlife for Scene It? Twilight. The game will be released not only as a standard DVD board game, but also on the Wii. There’ll also eventually be a DS incarnation, but that won’t be out until 2010. For now, let’s focus on the versions of the game that will be out before the The Twilight Saga: New Moon movie is released.
The Scene It? Twilight DVD board game will be out first, and Amazon’s saying it’ll be out October 1, 2009…
