Konami buying out Hudson Soft
Konami already owned controlling interest in Bomberman creator Hudson Soft so the company’s announcement that it is purchasing the remaining shares is not a huge shocker.
Konami bought more than 50 percent of Hudson’s shares in 2005 and, on April 1, 2011 (no fooling), Konami will purchase the 2.5 million shares remaining.
Hudson Soft will be delisted from the stock market March 29, 2011, with CEO Michihiro Ishizuka stepping down. Konami Digital’s Kazuhiko Uehara will take over the reigns. Bomberman will then officially join the Konami impressive catalog of characters alongside Simon Belmont and Solid Snake.
