NBA Dynasty challenges you to build Facebook’s best basketball team

The National Basketball Association playoffs are at hand and Playdom is taking full advantage with NBA Dynasty. This sim charges you with being the owner, general manager and head coach of your favorite NBA team. Unlike many games on Facebook, you have a level of interaction beyond clicking and waiting for things to happen. The first three quarters of the game are simulated but, during the fourth quarter of games, you have the option to coach the team. You’re trusted with three timeouts as well as first aid kits for injuries and sports drinks to get players back in the game fast.

Sega’s MLB Manager lets you run your own baseball franchise

Sega has already gotten its feet wet in the free-to-play sport sim category with Football Manager. Coming March 2011, Sega will launch MLB Manager, a free online baseball sim.

The MLB license gives Sega access to all 30 teams and 900 players that will appear in the game. It will launch in the US, Canada, Japan and South Korea.

Mafia Wars heads to Italy

Zynga’s Mafia Wars takes you to exotic locales including Bangkok and London, asking you to run your own criminal empire. The company’s official Mafia Wars blog notes no mob based game would be complete without a trip to Italy. The old country, after all, is where the mafia legend began.

FIFA Superstars error may reveal Madden Facebook game currently in development

In February 2010, EA Sports President Peter Moore announced Madden NFL would be coming to Facebook.

He didn’t give an exact release date but a glitch in EA’s popular FIFA Superstars soccer game shows Madden Superstars may be available rather soon.

FrontierVille extends Fourth of July event by popular demand

Zynga has heard your cries, FrontierVille fans.

Wild West themed game FrontierVille has extended the time players will get to complete its Fourth of July challenges. Originally slated to end July 7, 2010, Zynga will now end the event July 12, 2010.

If you collect five Independence Day themed items, you will receive a free Liberty Bell for your trouble. Apparently it’s so hard to get, FrontierVille players have taken to openly wondering whether or not the item really exists.
