Global Resistance browser game unlocks Resistance 3 content

The Resistance 3 multiplayer beta starts in August, but there’s another Resistance beta going on right now. Global Resistance is a new browser-based strategy game that was recently released by Insomniac Games. You’ll need to sign-in with your Facebook account to start playing.

Family Guy Online makes friends with your browser this year

Family Guy is making the leap from the television screen to your computer monitor later this year with Family Guy Online. That’s right, Family Guy has become an online multiplayer game. This new browser-based game will be entering open beta sometime in 2011. In the meantime, you can head over to the Family Guy Online website, register and create your own character based on the likeness of Chris, Peter, Lois or Stewie.

Google Chrome gets free Angry Birds

Angry Birds have conquered a whole new platform – web browsers. Specifically, Google Chrome. The game was announced at Google I/O on May 11, 2011, and should be enough to make anyone who actually paid for Angry Birds cringe. That’s because on Chrome, the game is free. Yes, there are ads and you have to pay if you want to unlock and use the Mighty Eagle, but still. The fact that now anyone with a computer can play it for free is a blow to everyone who didn’t wait.

Collect characters and wage war in The Continuum

Those who enjoy browser games, but feel limited by their capabilities, may want to check out Seven Light’s newest browser game, The Continuum. The Continuum is billed as a sort of an online, collective TCG, strategic rpg, war game hybrid. The game is free to play, with the option to purchase a subscription or buy extra card packs.

When you begin the game, you are given some starter characters to begin playing. You can then create armies with them, upgrade their abilities, equip them with items and send them off into battle with other The Continuum players.
