Yes, dreams do come true. Or maybe it’s creative begging? Whatever the case may be, the Kickstarter campaign for the game Double Fine Adventure has now passed the $1 million pledge mark with 32 days remaining.

Kotick vs. Schafer: Round 3

The war of words between Activision CEO Robert Kotick and Double Fine Productions founder Tim Schafer continues. This whole fiasco started in July when Schafer call Kotick a “total prick.” A couple months later Schafer responded in an Edge Magazine interview slamming Brütal Legend. Now it’s Schafer’s turn to counterattack.

Activision’s Bobby Kotick has harsh words for Tim Schafer

Back in July, Tim Schafer (Brütal Legend, Psychonauts) said some unflattering things to say about Activision’s CEO Robert “Bobby” Kotick. Schafer said he thought Kotick was a “total prick” and wasn’t good for the industry. Schafer later took back his comments and apparently regretted what he said. Over two months later, Kotick has responded to Schafer’s remarks in the latest issue of Edge Magazine.

Will StarCraft II live up to the hype?

In four days (July 27, 2010) StarCraft II will finally grace us with its presence, 12 long years after the the release of the first game. As the space marine in the very first teaser trailer so cheekily put it, “Hell, it’s about time.” After years of speculation, discussion, screenshots, demos, beta testing, and probably hundreds of articles on the game I can’t help but ask as the release date approaches: will it be worth it?

Brutal Legend Hammer of Infinite Fate DLC to include achievements and outfits

Another batch of downloadable content for Brutal Legend is coming out in time for Christmas. On December 17, 2009, the “Hammer of Infinite Fate” pack will be released for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. They’re not exactly similarly priced though, as the PS3 version costs $4.99 when its released on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox 360 version costing 480 Microsoft Points (about $6) when it appears on Xbox Live.

“Hammer of Infinite Fate” is all about customization and adding replay value. You’ll be able to further customize Eddie Rigs, The Deuce and Mount Rockmore. Eddie Riggs gets three new outfits and seven new back patches, his car The Deuce gets four new paint jobs and four new upgrades and Mount Rockmore will get six new face options…

Gamertell’s 2009 Xbox 360 holiday gift guide

With the holidays getting closer faster than a runaway sleigh, it’s time to start thinking about presents.

It’s really frustrating when you just don’t know what to get for someone but if that someone likes video games, you’re in luck.

If you are shopping for a video games fan, there are different options and stellar games this year, so to make things a little easier, here are a few suggestions based on the most popular categories…

Brütal Legend downloadable content free for two weeks via PSN

Just because Rocktober is entering its last days doesn’t mean the metal has to die along with it.

Double Fine isn’t done melting faces online and is about the release a new map pack for Brütal Legend called “The Tears of the Hextadon” via PSN on November 5, 2009. PS3 owners will also be able to download the maps free until November 19, 2009. The Xbox Live DLC will probably come a couple of days earlier but Microsoft has it priced at 400 MS points (or US$5).

Play Brutal Legend with the Double Fine team

Well, you’ll be happy to know that you’ll soon be able to “test your mettle” (groan) against the guys who actually built the game. Don’t just sit there reading – If you preordered Brütal Legend, you can download the demo today

Good news people! The Brütal Legend demo is now available as a download from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Sadly, only a select group of individuals will have access to it. That group are the preorder-ers. Specifically, the people with the foresight to preorder the game from GameStop.

This doesn’t mean you have to run out right now and preorder Brütal Legend if you want access to the demo. If you have the patience, you can just wait a few weeks. The early demo access is only a preorder incentive, not a preorder exclusive. So as long as you don’t mind waiting for it, the demo will eventually be made available to you.

Brütal Legend is the October 13, 2009 Xbox 360 and PS3 release starring Jack Black and rock legends like Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Halford…

EA is also among the major companies ready to step up and support GamesCom 2009. And the company’s going to be putting on quite a show. It is bringing 42 games across all platforms to display, including the iPhone.

There are a number of highlights to check out, from the extraordinary amount of games being displayed, to a special press conference (which you can watch online via live stream), an exclusive closed door area with special games being shown, a booth set up just for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and the demo debut of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Let’s look at the list of games EA is bringing along, in some shape or form, in alphabetical order…
