You’re in serious trouble. It’s the absolute last second and you still have a handful of people to shop for. But there’s always hope. Rather than running out to some store and battling the crowds today (December 23, 2010) or, even worse, on Christmas Eve, you can fall back on a nice downloadable game. It’s quick, it’s easy and in most cases, the online game store will automatically deliver your gift to whoever it is supposed to go to.

So here’s a brief list of downloadable DSi, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, PS3, PSP, Windows, Mac, Linux, Wii and Xbox 360 games you can get and send for friends. In many cases, it’s as easy as firing up your computer or system, going through a few listings and then entering the recipient’s email address or username…

This week on PlayStation Home there are several new events taking place that will continue to entertain the PS Home community and one very promising upgrade to one of PS Home’s hangouts.

Burn Zombie Burn! is a shooter in the most basic sense of the genre with a nearly endless barrage of zombies coming for your brains and you have to blast, burn, mow, bash or otherwise thwart their attempts at feeding. It’s simple, it’s silly and holy roasted zombie guts is it fun.

You play as a bobble-headed animated version of Bruce Campbell (Elvis lipped, big chinned and donning a Hawaiian shirt) in typical horror film settings with a constant influx of undeadites heading your way. You begin with a simple handgun and pick up myriad weapons including bats (baseball and cricket), a flamethrower, rapid-fire guns and even a lawn mower. Some are temporary – the best of the bunch – and respawn while others last a while. Kill enough zombies with the same weapon and you activate a giant red button that causes an area-wide effect (rain, dancing, whathaveyou).
