Hudson Soft’s Calling is the latest survival horror game for the Wii. There have been plenty of these as of late, and Calling is happy to wedge itself somewhere between Ju-On: The Grudge (a haunted house simulator) and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (a psychological thriller), except that Calling is actually better than both. You heard me…Calling is better than Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and that’s simply because it’s scarier. Much scarier.

The Wii is mainly known for its family friendly games, but the system has slowly been building up a small library of games that aren’t all-ages fare. There aren’t too many games with a “Mature” rating, or that fall into the horror, thriller and suspense genres, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any available for the system.

Hudson’s creepy Calling is already golden

The Wii isn’t exactly known as a go-to console if you want to get scared, but it’s steadily building a library of thrilling and chilling games. One such game is the forthcoming Calling, from Hudson, which has already gone gold and will be out March 9, 2010.

Calling is inspired by Japanese horror movies. There’s a website called the Black Page, and strange things appear and happen if you interact with it. Those who visit can end up trapped in the Mnemonic Abyss. The player stumbles on the site and discovers four people who’ve been trapped in the Mnemonic Abyss, and must experience their stories and search through the memories trapped within…
