The Magic: The Gathering 2012 Core Set is now available in stores.
Core sets represent the ‘base cards’ for Magic: The Gathering (M:TG) for the coming year. They’re officially tournament legal but tournament players usually don’t buy many core cards.
In the coming months these cards will quickly be replaced in tournament decks by often more powerful and more interesting cards from upcoming expansions.
Full House Poker is part of Xbox Live House Party
Gamertell previously reported that Xbox Live’s Primetime Network is getting a its own poker game. We now know it will be an integral part of Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Live House Party promotion. Bandai has announced that is will release the Resident Evil Deck Building Card Game November 19, 2010. Unlike a collectible game such as Pokemon, a deck building game comes packaged with all the cards in the set.
World of Warcraft trading card game’s Wrathgate expansion coming May 2010
The World of Warcraft Trading Card Game’s Wrathgate expansion is coming May 25, 2010, according to Cryptozoic Entertainment‘s web site. Wrathgate is the eleventh set in the WoW TCG and the first from Cryptozoic, which picked up the rights to the successful TCG after Blizzard did not renew its agreement with Upper Deck Entertainment.
World of Warcraft trading card game finds new home
In a state of limbo since Blizzard ended its relationship with Upper Deck Entertainment in February 2010, the card game based on World of Warcraft is back in action.
It’s now in the hands of Cryptozoic Entertainment, a new company formed by former Blizzard Director of Global Business Development Cory Jones and John Nee, formerly the vice president of business development at DC Comics.

Madden NFL 10 will soon contain a game mode that will combine elements of fantasy football and trading card gaming.
Madden Ultimate Team is a free downloadable addition on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network coming January 2010. In this game players will collect virtual packs of cards ranging from “platinum” to “bronze.”

The latest set from Magic: The Gathering is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, the set was broken into two mini-blocks (Lorwyn and Shadowmoor) with two expansions each.
