The words “3D Castlevania” may make many fans of the series understandably nervous. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow played to mostly favorable reviews and took a whole new generation into battles against goblins, vampires and other supernatural foes. Konami is building on that momentum with two packs of downloadable content announced for 2011.

Konami has finally stepped in to rectify problems with the PS3 version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. See, occasionally the game would claim a save file was corrupted and the save would be destroyed. The 1.01 patch stops that from happening. The Xbox 360 version would claim this too, but would still allow people to play from their supposedly “corrupt” saves.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was released October 5, 2010. So PS3 owners have had to wait over three weeks to fix this devastating issue…

We’ve all been working hard this past week. Sunday is the day when retailers put out their latest specials for the week in an attempt to take our money. This week brings some nice deals from a few well known retailers. Expect savings and incentives for games such as Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, NBA Jam and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

Today is the start of another week videogame deals. Leading the pack of retailers once again is Kmart. Kmart has offers in place for some of the biggest titles that will be released this week such as Dead Rising 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. If you’re going to pick these games up anyway, why not save some cash in the long run?

Konami’s among the many companies announcing its Tokyo Game Show 2010 plans. Which is to be expected, of course. The event is September 16-19, 2010, and companies want attendees to be informed well in advance so people know whether or not they want to visit certain booths. Konami’s booth will be quite full this year, with eight new Konami games and six games from other, smaller publishers on display…

Konami has announced that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will launch in North America on October 5, 2010 for for PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is a reboot of the series, and is a collaboration between MercurySteam and Kojima Productions (as in, Metal Gear‘s Hideo Kojima).

What Kojima’s “Next” website didn’t reveal, may be what a listing at GamesPress has revealed.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (Xbox 360 and PS3) and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP) are currently listed on the games journalist’s resource site with the release date of 2010. Not much to go on admittedly, but when one clicks further, one gets a press release for Lords of Shadow dated back in 2008 from Leipzig and some concept art.
