FIFA Superstars error may reveal Madden Facebook game currently in development

In February 2010, EA Sports President Peter Moore announced Madden NFL would be coming to Facebook.

He didn’t give an exact release date but a glitch in EA’s popular FIFA Superstars soccer game shows Madden Superstars may be available rather soon.

Yoville adds Pool Party House for summer

It’s summertime and your Yoville character is buckling from the heat. Time to dip into the Pool Party House for the low, low price of 36 YoCash! YoVille is another social game hit from the minds over at Zynga, who also bring us Mafia Wars and FarmVille. In YoVille you will get a job, decorate your house and hopefully make lots of YoVille friends.

Casual Friday: Casual game update for April 10 – 16, 2010

Good morning everyone, and I hope you’re having a wonderful Friday! There weren’t that many new casual games released this week, but hopefully you’ll still find something to interest you. There are three new hidden object games (one even for Macs!), a racing game, a RPG and a match-3 adventure to keep you occupied this weekend.

I should warn you though, that the Zhu Zhu Pets are still invading. The racing game I mentioned above actually stars the hamsters. You pick a Zhu Zhu Pet hamster as your racer, he or she hops into a hamster ball and you then race around a track. It’s called, appropriately enough, Zhu Zhu Pets.

This week’s best bets are: Love & Death: Bitten (PC, Mac) and Vastar (PC)

Casual Friday: Update for March 27 – April 2, 2010

Morning everyone! Time to start your Friday out right with the latest casual game news!

This week’s update continues the torrent of casual games that has been raining down throughout March, 2010. There are a lot of new games available starting today, and while many are hidden object titles, there are also some match-3, card, RPG, simulation and general puzzle games available too!

There’s also a contest going on at Alawar! If you purchase Magic Encyclopedia 3: Illusions (PC), you can enter to win an mp3 player. You just have to play the game, then take a short quiz answering some questions based on the game and providing your registration key to prove you actually own it. If your answers are correct, you could end up being a winner!

This week’s best bets are: Magic Encyclopedia 3: Illusions (PC), Dreamscape (PC) and Unwell Mel (PC)

Casual Friday: Update for March 20 – 26, 2010

Happy Friday everyone! There’s another big casual game update this week, with nine new PC games and two new Mac games available.

Sometimes, it seems like themes can present themselves in the updates, and there are two very distinct themes this week. The first is a mystery theme, as games like Alice in Wonderland, The Dream Voyagers, The Lost Cases of 221 B Baker St. and Millenium Secrets: Emerald Curse all have mysteries to solve. The other is travel, as Incredible Express and Unexpected Journey give players the opportunity to visit other locations and take trips vicariously.

This week’s best bets are: Alice in Wonderland (PC), The Lost Cases of 221 B Baker St. (PC) and The Dream Voyagers (PC, Mac)

Casual Friday: Update for March 13 – 19, 2010

This is, quite possibly, an epic week for casual gamers. Not because there are any major or highly anticipated releases, though the Dream Day Wedding series is quite popular. No, it’s outstanding because there are 11 new casual games making their debut on the internet. (One of them is even a Mac game!)

Of course, the predominant genre is yet again hidden object, but other genres are represented as well. There are a number of time management games in this week’s lineup, like Drugstore Mania (PC) or The Palace Builder (PC, Mac), along with simulation, mahjong, RPG and match-3 games. You should have no problem finding something to keep you busy this weekend, or at work next week.

This week’s best bets are: Dream Day Wedding: Bella Italia (PC), The Palace Builder (PC, Mac) and Treasure Seekers: Follow the Ghosts (PC)

Casual Friday: Update for February 27 – March 5, 2010

This week’s update is huge. HUGE. There are eight new casual games out this week and the best part is, only half are hidden object games! Okay, Eden’s Quest: The Hunt for Akua (PC) is technically part hidden object and should boost the count to five hidden object games and three from other genres, but it also has adventure and match-3 elements so that kind of makes it more of a general puzzle game.

Seriously, take a good look at this week’s offerings. Chances are, no matter what kind of casual gamer you are, you’ll find something new that you might really love. There are games representing the puzzle, action, adventure, simulation and RPG genres below.

There’s only one Mac game though. Thankfully, that Mac game is RE: Alistair and happens to be free. (It also happens to be available for computers with Windows and Linux OSes.)

This week’s best bets are: RE: Alistair (PC, Mac, Linux), Apparitions: Kotsmine Hills (PC) and Clover: A Curious Tale (PC)…

Casual Friday: Update for February 20 – 26, 2010

Lots of games out this week, and lots of variety too! Sadly, no Mac games, but there were some last week so hopefully that should take the sting out of it.

As for the other games, it seems like all the developers and distributors got together and decided to make this “trapped alone in a deserted location” week. Three of the four casual games released this week place the player in situations where the lead heroine is trapped and alone, and must find answers to what’s going on and escape or survive. Two of the games, Secret Mission: The Forgotten Island and Escape from Lost Island are even set on deserted islands. Though not the same deserted island, because that’d be really awkward.

This week’s best bets are: Millenium 2: Take me Higher (PC), Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches (PC) and Youda Fairy (PC)…

Casual Friday: Update for February 13 – 19, 2010

Wow! There are a lot of new games out this week! And quite a bit of variety too!

True, there’s the multitude of hidden object games that seem to endlessly appear each week. (They must be really easy to make.) But there are also some really intriguing games from other genres available too!

The PC game based on the movie Shutter Island (PC) debuted this week. The latest entry in the Aveyond orbs series, Aveyond: The Lost Orb (PC), was released as well. And puzzle games like Dale Hardshovel and the Bloomstone Mystery (PC, Mac, Linux) and Super Jigsaw Kittens (PC) are out as well.

This week’s best bets are: Aveyond: The Lost Orb (PC) and Shutter Island (PC)…

Casual Friday: Update for February 6 – 12, 2010

There’ve been quite a few lovey-dovey casual games released recently, if you combine last week’s release of The Flower Shop (PC, Mac, Linux) with the recent releases Matchmaker: Joining Hearts (PC, Mac) and Love Story: Letters from the Past (PC). Even Settlement: Colossus (PC) has minor love-story elements! Seems like even casual game developers and publishers are in the mood for love.

Anyways, there are five new games this week. Once again, hidden object games are the most prevalent, with only one new entry, A Dwarf’s Story (PC), falling into a different category. (It’s a match-3 game, if you’re curious.) I hope you like finding things!

This week’s best bets are: Settlement: Colossus (PC) and Matchmaker: Joining Hearts (PC, Mac)…
