GDC 2010: First paid Mass Effect 2 DLC lands in April, 2010

Not only does it land on April 6, 2010, but the first paid DLC for Mass Effect 2 finally includes the oft-referenced and even more oft-denied character, Kasumi. There were even screenshots of her rumored existence within the game from Gamescom of last year. At the time, the validity of these were questioned a bit as they waited until closer to the release date to show them off. But now we know the truth. She’s real and she even has her very own dedicated DLC! The first in an undoubtedly long line of paid downloadable content for Mass Effect 2 centers entirely on Kasumi. Heck, it’s even called Kasumi’s Stolen Memory…

Go get some free Mass Effect 2 downloadable content

Good news for owners of Mass Effect 2! Bioware has something special, and free, for you today! Bioware is giving free downloadable content to everyone with the game and the necessary internet connection to access it. You get a new piece of armor, the Cerberus Assault Armor, and a new weapon, the M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun.

The free armor and weapon DLC went live at 12pm MST today (February 9, 2010)…

Mass Effect 2′s Cerberus Network priced at $15

The Cerberus Network won’t be the only way to get downloadable content either. BioWare’s co-founder Dr.Greg Zeschuk revealed to Joystiq that DLC will also be made available for purchase through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Zeschuk also said not all of the content Cerebrus offered through the Cerberus Network will be free.
