Disney racer Split/Second dated for US, renamed for Europe
One of the sleeper titles Gamertell encountered at Consumer Electronics Show 2010 was arcade style racer Split Second. The destructible environments aren’t just part of the course, they alter the course.

The 2010 incarnation of The Show features 2,500 more animations than last year’s effort, including several hundred that are player specific.Little touches such as Ichiro tugging at his shirt sleeve before batting add to the experience and increase the chance someone will think you’re watching a game, not playing one.
CES 2010 Hands On: Bioshock 2 multiplayer mode
First-person shooter fans’ wishlist for Bioshock 2 began with one word: Multiplayer.
Take-Two heard your cry and online multiplayer is getting so much attention, the company even has a whole design team working on competitive play. The world depicted in Bioshock 2 is unlike any other in gaming, so it is only fitting that the multiplayer is unique.
Players will be able to equip two weapons and two plasmid powers such as Telekinesis or Incinerate. The super powers can be used to activate vicious combos causing ridiculous amounts of damage. For example, combining water and electricity does large damage. The plasmid power Incinerate has a dramatic effect on a map with oil slicks on it.
CES 2010 Hands On: Splitfish Dual SFX Evolution controller
I never thought I could comfortably play a racing game with one hand but I was proven wrong. The Dual SFX Evolution had a good weight, easy to access buttons and had remarkably accurate motion controls. Unlike the Wii’s motion controls that uses a sensor bar, the Dual SFX Evolution uses infrared just like the DualShock 3. I didn’t have to point the controller at the screen to get the car to move the way I wanted.
CES 2010: M11x, Dell’s powerful gaming notebook
Alienware has been known for offering high end gaming PCs with awesome looks and performance. At CES 2010 the company unveiled its latest incursion into the portable gaming market, the M11x.
Small and lightweight notebooks have been increasing in popularity lately due to portability and low price. These notebooks often sacrifice power for size but that’s not the case with the M11x. It comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an Nvidia GeForce GT 335M GPU. These would take a toll on a notebooks battery life but the M11x also comes equipped with Intel’s integrated graphics so that users can change on the fly for less graphics intensive applications. Battery life is said to be around 3 hours when gaming and it goes up to 6 hours for regular use.
The M11x is only 11-inches and it comes with a 720p HD display with a resolution of 1336 x 768. It is only 4 pounds and also has the trademark Alienware looks, with an awesome backlit keyboard.

Heads were turning at Ubisoft’s CES display and it wasn’t just because of the demo for the upcoming sequel Splinter Cell Conviction.
Running the demo was Ubisoft Frag Doll Brooke “Brookelyn” Hattabaugh, living out a dream of actually getting paid to play video games. The Frag Dolls are an all-female group of pro gamers that travel the country encouraging more women to compete. They also help promote Ubisoft’s games.
A game as eagerly awaited as Splinter Cell Conviction might not really require a gorgeous pro gamer to get you to stop at the booth but Ubisoft doesn’t leave things to chance.
CES 2010: Even the post office likes games
The United States Post Office and Namco teamed up to bring some friendly gender based competition to CES 2010. It had two winter sports games on display in the form of skiing and snowboarding.

When the lady controlling the demonstration asked me what I wanted to do, I immediately said I wanted to give my pet a bath. After a few button presses she handed me the magic card. The magic card is actually a piece of cardboard designed to be detected by the PlayStation Eye. It allows you to access actions that help you interact with your pet.

The destruction derby mode has several cars in a small arena. The objective is to destroy as many cars as possible within a certain time limit. This mode can be played alone or with up to four players online or locally via split screen.
