CES 2010 Eyes On: Nvidia 3D Vision Kit

The visuals were like that of any other companies attempt at 3D gaming. The moving characters slightly pop out at the screen while the foliage kept my attention most of all. When the character moved through a grassy field, blades of grass gently graced my eyes as though I could touch it.

Microsoft held its keynote address yesterday (January 6, 2010) during CES 2010, during which there were several notable game-related announcements.

The keynote starred Steve Ballmer, Microsoft’s CEO, and included a power problem and a few handoffs to other execs (esp. Robbie Bach). It featured a tree-pronged approach TV, “cloud” and NUI (natural user interface) technology.

There were plenty of game-related goodies peppered throughout Sony’s CES 2010 press conference this week (January 6, 2010).

Sony made some huge strides in 2009 and the company may try to top itself with some big announcements to kick off the new year. Whatever is announced, be it big or small, Gamertell be churning out the details at CES 2010.

CES 2010: CyWee Group’s CyWee Z 3D wireless motion game controller for PC, Mac

Hidden among the many booths of big-name gadgets, electronics and myriad gear at CES 2010 there will also be plenty of lesser-known game-related products. CyWee Group, for example, will be there demonstrating its WiiMote-like game controller that works with PCs running Windows and Mac OS. And it doubles as a computer mouse.

Currently available for $79.99 (regularly $99.99) through the company’s web site, CyWee’s press release promises that the CyWee Z is a hinged, wireless motion-sensitive controller that “incorporates the latest in motion-sensing technology” and can be used in four basic configurations: straight and swung like a golf club, bent at the hinge and held like a gun or bent, held like a steering wheel or rotated and held like a futuristic jet plane.

CES 2010: Inspired Instruments to show off You Rock Guitar usb string guitar controller

Yeah, you read that headline right. A company is finally releasing a string-based, USB guitar game controller.

Named the You Rock Guitar, this is an honest-to-goodness string guitar (OK, a digital string guitar) that plugs into your computer. For $20 more you can get a GameFlex cartridge that adapts the guitar to be used as a controller for consoles games including Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

The You Rock Guitar will be available in February 2010 for $179.95 but will be on display during CES 2010 at Booth 5627 Gaming Showcase, LVCC, North Hall Las Vegas Hilton East Tower Hospitality Suite H2549
