Sega realeases new titles for the Genesis Classics Collection

Sega recently released the Genesis Classics collection for the PC, hoping to bring back that feeling in those of us old enough to remember. I mean the awesome feeling, not the “That’s it???!!” feeling. Hits from Sega’s past such as Golden Axe, Space Harrier and Ecco the Dolphin were a success in this past release so Sega is launching a new group of Genesis games for the PC. This new collection will include hits like the awesome Eternal Champions (Xavier FTW!), Columns, Super Thunder Blade II and Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle.

PlayStation Store Update: A Kick-Ass new game and cooler games on sale (May 2 to May 8, 2010)

Starting the first week of May 2010, the PlayStation Network Store will be moving the updates from Thursdays to Tuesdays starting May 4, 2010.This week’s downloadable PlayStation 3 game is Kick-Ass based on the movie of the same title for $14.99. In this game players control one of three characters: Kick-Ass, Big Daddy or Hit-Girl as they race through the city of New York to take on criminals, mob bosses and mini-bosses using the character’s signature moves and weaponry to complete each level. The game also features a Facebook integration system that allows players to complete special Facespace3 missions. Players can also invite friends to help them online and unlock arena and extreme mode through a local multi-player co-op with its own sub-missions and mini-games to help bring justice to the city of New York. A Boy and his Blob remake to get excited about

Majesco Entertainment Co, the maker of games including Cooking Mama and Contra 4, has decided to remake this classic NES game for the Nintendo Wii. The original game won numerous awards when it first came out in 1989, and was definitely an entertaining little game. This remake promises more jellybeans!

16 SNK classics in 1 game

SNK Playmore is following the lead of Sega, Midway, EA and Capcom, as the company has just announced it will be releasing SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1. The game, which will be released on both the Playstation 2 and Playstation Portable, will feature 16 games (seven of them fighters). SNK Playmore has stated that the title should be available before the end of Q2, 2008. Go Nintendo also reports that the game will appear on the Wii, despite the SNK Playmore press release making no mention of it.

SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1 features quite a few must-have titles. The classic fighting games Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, King of Fighters ’94 and Samurai Shodown are all included. Plus three more famous titles…

Atari classics heading to PSP

Atari has been sitting pretty on top of a huge collection of fabled arcade classics, periodically releasing some of these priceless gaming masterpieces onto Xbox Live. Now its the turn of the PSP to receive its dip into Atari’s library of classic games with the Fall 2007 release for its PSP offering, Atari Classics Evolved, a compilation of short and sweet classic games.
