Diablo III won’t debut until 2012

The wait for Diablo III has just gotten a little longer. That late 2011 release date was a bit optimistic it seems, as Blizzard has now released a revised release window. Now, you’ll have to wait for action RPG dungeon crawling until sometime in 2012. The first few months of 2012, if we’re lucky.

While this is pretty much bad news all around, but if you want to look on the bright side, you can think of this as giving you more of a chance to get picked to participate in the Diablo III closed beta….

Registration for APB: Reloaded closed beta opens

Everything GamersFirst is hoping for is falling into place. Last week GamersFirst said beta applications for APB: Reloaded would be going out this week, and they have. The process for getting a beta key requires a little more than politely asking. GamersFirst needs specific information on each potential beta user so that it can make sure APB doesn’t have the same technical problems it did in the past.

Dynasty Warriors Online beta now open to all

The hack-and-slash franchise, Dynasty Warriors, is being turned in to a MMO and has been in closed beta for a few weeks.

Aeria, the game’s publisher, has opened the Dynasty Warriors Online beta as of yesterday (November 2, 2010) allowing anyone to get into the online chop-chop action.

Gamertell Preview: LEGO Universe first impressions

This massively-multiplayer online game includes customizable LEGO avatars and, so far, most of the elements you’d expect from any online role-playing game (except leveling up).

Here’s a bullet-point list of the game’s features and my observations base on the first day of the closed beta. Also check out the LEGO Universe Photo Gallery of screen shots.

Blizzard begins Starcraft II closed beta

That’s right, Starcraft fans. Starcraft II has finally entered closed beta. That means, of course, that you have to receive invitations from the company to play but, heck, at least it’s happening.

Beta testers are also getting a look at the new and improved Battle.net which will eventually collect World of Warcraft, Starcraft II and any future products into one streamlined service. Now it’s time to sit and pray for an invite. Though maybe we could all just compile a list of the things we’d do for a key and then pray that Blizzard sees it. Either way, there’s lots of prayer involved with receiving one.

Fantasia could help usher in the era of cell phone MMOs

MMO fans should keep on Lemon Co.’s Fantasia. This Korean company has just launched the closed beta of a massive multiplayer online rpg that is primarily played on cell phones. So now you can be out and about in the real world, while also venturing through a virtual one.

Lemon Co. spent three years working on this project with 23 people, and came up with a MMO that has large maps, adequate skill sets for classes characters created in 3D that were then turned into 2D sprites and even included guild, party, trading, arena and postage systems.

Perhaps most intriguing is what is being labeled as Fantasia‘s PET system. If you aren’t playing the game, you can receive text messages letting you know that your character has found or acquired certain items. Perhaps the postage system will also use the PET system to let you know…

Luna Online’s closed beta begins – lets start fighting monsters, finding love and farming!

Cute, somewhat deformed, anime characters? Check.

Unique family and friend systems to help players’ avatars bond? Check.

The ability to run your own farm and raise pets? Check.

The ability to face off against evil hordes facing Blue Land? Double check!

Yup, it looks like the closed beta of the free-to-play, MMORPG Luna Online is ready to go! Even though Run Up Game is referring to this as a closed beta, its really easy for anyone who wants to play to join…

Runes of Magic discovers the magic of Halloween

Runes of Magic is still in closed beta, but that isn’t stopping Frogster from feeling the Halloween spirit. The MMO is going to have some special additions to celebrate Halloween 2008. There are going to be quests, special characters, knowledgeable NPCs and monster potions…

Registration now open for Champions Online closed beta

Champions Online is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the Champions role-playing game that was first published back in 1981. It’s being developed by Cryptic Studios, a company you’re probably familiar with thanks to its work on City of Heroes, another superhero-themed MMORPG.

Although the full game isn’t expected to be released until Spring 2009 (for PC and Xbox 360), Cryptic Studios confirmed via press release that a closed beta for the PC version will be taking place…

Stargate Worlds’ closed beta starts October 15, 2008

Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment’s (CME) upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game Stargate Worlds will enter a closed beta phase on Wednesday (October 15, 2008), according to a press release issued by Firesky, the game’s publisher.

If you are interested in taking part in the closed beta but have yet to receive an access key, you can still sign up via the game’s official website, StargateWorlds.com. Beta testers will be granted access to the game in waves, so you’re not necessarily out of luck if you aren’t chosen by…
