CES 2012: Sony and Taco Bell want to give you a Vita
The Vita will be released on February 22, 2012, but I’m sure some people don’t want to wait over a month. Which works out well, because a special contest was announced at CES 2012 this week. Apparently, Sony and Taco Bell want to build hype for the handheld by starting a massive giveaway on January more »

Happy Halloween! I have some great news for you, Square Enix has prepared a treat. It isn’t a treat for everyone though, rather it’s an opportunity for a handful of people to perhaps get something quite awesome. As I’m sure you’re aware, Square Enix is planning to have Army Corps of Hell released as a Vita launch window title. So to hype it up, it’s planned a Facebook contest.

Japan Import: Lucky Club Nintendo members could win Mario-themed 3DS units
Do you want one of the coolest and rarest 3DS systems ever made? Well, too bad. You probably can’t get one. That’s because the Mario, Peach and Kinoko systems are only for Japan. Japan’s Club Nintendo members, if you want to get really specific. Those three 3DS units at the right there are part of a just announced Club Nintendo contest that will reward people who buy and register between two and ten 3DS games.
See, Club Nintendo works a little differently in Japan than it does in other regions…
Crusader Kings needs family stories and names
While most people will never have a family name that resonates through history like Tudor, Borgia, or Hapsburg, Paradox Interactive’s promotional contest for Crusader Kings II gives everyone a shot at the next best thing.
Name Sega’s mystery PS3 game to win a copy of it
Contest time! If you like free stuff (we all do), then get ready to cozy up to Sega. The company is bringing back a classic game, and will be releasing it on the PS3. The thing is, Sega doesn’t want this to be a typical game announcement. So it’s decided to hint at the game and let the fans try to name what it so they can be one of the lucky people to win a copy of said game.
It all involves watching a video, which was posted at the Sega Blog…
TIcket to Ride contest winners doubled
When it comes to generosity, Days of Wonder (DoW) is clearly in contention for most generous boardgame company of 2011. To celebrate their 10th year anniversary, DoW had a map submission contest for their deservedly popular Ticket to Ride game, with top prize of $10,000 for the best map.
Dark elves overrun Gen Con 2011
On August 9, 2011, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) announced the official winners of the Neverwinter Mass Adventure at Gen Con 2011 to be the drow (dark elf, right side of the photo) mercenaries of the Bregan D’aerthe faction.
The competition was held between three factions: The warrior (center) faction of New Neverwinter was a close second place, while the evil wizards of Thay were a distant last place. I’m glad to hear only a small minority of people want to be power-hungry wizards willing to sacrifice any number of innocents for personal gain, although 18% is still a bit high for my taste.
Square Enix wants to give you a Heroes of Ruin 3DS
The 3DS is only a few months old, so you probably haven’t expected to see any big design variations. One is in the works though. It’s an exclusive Heroes of Ruin 3DS that’s Cosmo Black and features a Heroes of Ruin insignia etched into the lid and the Heroes of Ruin logo etched inside, under the A/B/X/Y buttons. It’s quite a swanky little item, especially since the only way to get it is to win it.
Here’s how you can try and win one so you can have a free 3DS and make people jealous…
