Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic now being served
Nintendo 3DS owners looking for some culinary gaming can now get some meals prepared in time for Thanksgiving. Majesco Entertainment has announced that Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic is now available for Nintendo 3DS. New recipes, new ways to play, and new kitchen activities and dish combinations will show that the “… iconic kitchen cutie has some tricks up her oven mitts!”
Cook with Mama indoors in 3D, outdoors in 2D
When you have a development team called Cooking Mama Limited, what other game are you going to make? Majesco Entertainment has announced that our favorite helpful (but slightly scornful) chef will be returning this fall in two games: Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic for Nintendo 3DS and Camping Mama: Outdoor Adventures for the DS. Why? Because the Mama franchise has sold 8 and a half million units in North America alone, that’s why.
Cooking Mama serving food on Facebook
Cooking Mama has found a new place to cook. She’s set up shop on Facebook! If you have an account, you can open your browser, add the game to your profile and start running your own cafe. The press release calls the game Cooking Mama: Friends’ Cafe, but once you add it, it’ll appear with your other games as plain old Cooking Mama.
In the Facebook version of Cooking Mama, you’re running your own little cafe…
Five labor-intensive games to play on Labor Day
Labor Day is the day when most of us get off a day off work but that doesn’t mean we all have to slack off in the process.
Just to keep you in the “working” mood, I have picked out 5 labor-intensive games that can be played this Labor Day (September 6, 2010). Too bad you won’t get paid for it…
Crafting Mama joins Cooking Mama and Gardening Mama
Majesco is once again turning to the Mama series of games to make a quick buck. In Fall, 2010, DS owners will be able to head to their local game store and pick up Crafting Mama. I bet you’ve always had a secret desire to make virtual crafts with the touch screen on your DS.
Crafting Mama will feature Mama in the title role again, this time as a craft instructor assisting players in the creation of 40 different items. Some projects mentioned in the Majesco press release include aprons, birdhouses, candles, earrings and mini-Mama dolls. Did anyone else just think “voodoo dolls” when they read mini-Mama dolls, or is it just me…
We’ll be cooking with Mama again this Christmas
Majesco is preparing to make Christmas and this year’s holiday season a bit more merry. It turns out that the next DS entry in the Cooking Mama series, Cooking Mama 3: Shop & Chop is going to be making it’s North American debut in November, 2009. Like Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends, it is going to cost $29.99. Once again, players will have the opportunity to master 80 new recipes with Mama’s help.
The gameplay is pretty much exactly the same, and many familiar modes will be returning. You can learn to make recipes with Mama’s assistance in Let’s Cook Mode, try to appease your friends with recipes you’ve made without Mama in Let’s Eat Mode, look back at some of your past meals with the Picture Diary and engage in cooking competitions against three of your friends over local Wi-Fi in the Time Challenge.
The subtitle of the game comes from the two new game modes, Let’s Shop and Combine and Create…
Mama returns to the kitchen for Cooking Mama 3
We all knew that gardening thing was just a fling, or a hobby. Mama’s true home is in the kitchen. So, it should come as no surprise to anyone that another Cooking Mama game is on its way. There aren’t many solid details on what Cooking Mama 3 will be like, just an announcement from Majesco that the game will be appearing at E3 2009.
Wait, appearing sounds too common. Starring is a better word. Majesco is going to be throwing a party at E3 2009 that’s entire focus will be Cooking Mama 3. There’ll be food and beverages as well, for all party attendees, but it’s all really about people getting a chance to play Cooking Mama 3.
The timing is right, when you think about it…
Burger King’s Spongebob kids meal toys, Beach Party Cook-Off coupon

The coupon is for US$5 off THQ’s Cooking Mama-esque SpongeBob vs. The Big One: Beach Party Cook-Off for DS when purchased at Toys R Us. The game retails for $29.99 and was released march 3, 2009. As for the toys, there are 12 Spongebobs in the “set,” although the only differences between each toy is
PETA plans to make more games to promote its cause
Although PETA may have been involved in a controversial back-and-forth with Majesco over its latest Cooking Mama game, it must have found worth in the game’s inherent ability to make players aware of the joys of international cooking and cuisine.
Now PETA – which said in an interview that the point of its Cooking Mama parody title was to “make players aware of their ‘Make Your Meat’ video, a disturbing video of a corporate turkey farm – has decided to continue using the power of games to promote…
Majesco responds to PETA’s concerns over Cooking Mama
You may recall a few days ago, PETA launched a Flash game called Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals to protest Majesco’s popular Cooking Mama series and Cooking Mama World Kitchen. Well, yesterday (November 19, 2008) Majesco fired back at PETA with a press release discussing the recipes found in Cooking Mama World Kitchen, stating it does include over 25 vegetarian recipe options.
Majesco’s press release also included a quote from “Mama,” in response to PETA’s game. “Mama’s” official quote was:
“I would never put rat in my Ratatouille,” said a feisty Mama while beating some eggs. “Like any accomplished cook, I create my recipes to appeal to a broad range of tastes and preferences. My only goal is to ensure you leave the table well fed.”
