Sega PSN and XBLA classics’ prices plummet until the end of November
Most of the recent sales covered have been physical deals. Items you’ll actually have to go into a store and buy, and probably won’t even get to until next week. However, there’s one sale now available that you can access immediately and digitally. Sega’s decided to do their own kind of holiday shopping thing over the next two weeks. If you own a PS3, you can get one of four Sega Classic downloads for 50% off until November 29, 2011. If you own an Xbox 360, you can get one of six Sega downloads for 50% between November 22-28, 2011. I guess you could consider it a digital Black Friday sale.
Almost all of the sale games are ports of old Genesis, Dreamcast or Arcade games. So you could look at this as an opportunity to reminisce. Unfortunately, there’s no gifting system on place for either PSN or XBLA, so you can’t take advantage of this promotion to get something for someone you love.
Anyways, here are the sale games…
Sega Dreamcast Collection lineup is lackluster
That Dreamcast game collection you’ve been dreaming about isn’t going to be as sweet as you thought. You remember the Sega Dreamcast Collection, right? It was revealed in a mysterious leak late last year and people have been eagerly speculating as to what could be contained in this collection. Well, now we know. On February 22, 2011, you can get enhanced versions of Sonic Adventure, Space Channel 5 Part 2, Crazy Taxi and Sega Bass Fishing on a disc…
Crazy Taxi is coming back in glorious HD
Sega is continuing to release some of the most popular Dreamcast games on this generation of consoles. Sonic Adventure was the first title out the gate, and Crazy Taxi isn’t far behind.
Sega bringing Dreamcast games to PSN and Xbox Live
If you own a PS3 or Xbox 360, you’re going to get to play Dreamcast games this year. Sega has announced digital downloads of Dreamcast games to commemorate the Dreamcast’s 11th birthday. So sometime before the end of 2010, perhaps around September or November, slightly enhanced versions of the classic Dreamcast games you loved will be available once again.
The first two downloadable Dreamcast games will be Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure…
PlayStation Store Update: Sega Mega Sale (December 27 to January 2, 2009)
This week Sega is reducing the prices of selected Sega games to 40 percent in the PlayStation Network store now until January 7, 2010. Of all the downloads, this week’s Sega game to download is Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars for the PlayStation Portable for $9.99. In this crazy game players must pick up fares and rush the client to their destination as fast as possible.
09/09/09: Taking some time to remember the Dreamcast
On September 9. 1999, I remember sitting with my friends talking about whether or not we would be getting a Dreamcast. I boldly claimed, “No!” among a sea of yes-es and also claimed the system would never make it. No, I wasn’t a prophet embedded with the knowledge that the Dreamcast really wouldn’t make it more »
