PC and iPhone owners can experience Dark Void Zero

Capcom’s working on a port, and this one’s pretty unexpected. It turns out that Dark Void Zero won’t be a DSi exclusive after April 12, 2010. The DSiWare game is being turned into a PC, iPhone and iPod Touch title. Unlike the console versions of Dark Void, which were designed to be flashy and as advanced as possible, Dark Void Zero was an NES style, 8-bit game with three levels.

The PC and iPhone/iPod Touch ports of Dark Void Zero will very closely resemble the DSiWare game, but there will be some new features added in to make things more exciting for new and returning players. Achievements will now be available through OpenFeint and Steam and there will be online scoreboards. There will also be a new, secret ending to unlock…

Dark Void Survivor Missions DLC and soundtrack on the way

Prepare to immerse yourself in some Dark Void goodness next week. Capcom has announced two great announcements that should please fans of the games. First, the official soundtracks for Dark Void and Dark Void Zero will be released February 9, 2010. Then, while enjoying your music, you can patiently wait for the “Survivor Missions” Dark Void downloadable content for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Sounds good, right?

The soundtracks come out first, so let’s look at those first. Amazon has a listing for only the Dark Void: Original Video Game Score CD at the moment, but Sumthing Digital has listings for both the Dark Void: Original Video Game Score and the Dark Void Zero: Original Soundtrack. Amazon’s selling the full 27 track Dark Void soundtrack for $13.99, while Sumthing Digital isn’t showing the price yet. At Sumthing Digital you do have the option of purchasing single tracks though! The Dark Void Zero soundtrack price isn’t showing up at Sumthing Digital yet, but since there are only nine tracks it shouldn’t be too expensive.

The “Survivor Missions” DLC come out immediately after…

Also, there’ll be new trailers shown of both Super Street Fighter IV and Tatsunoko VS. Capcom, and the Super Street Fighter IV trailer will show some of the characters’ new combos and costumes…

Notable January 2010 video game releases (a polite reminder)

The tail end of 2009 was originally full of high-profile releases that were eventually pushed back. Some may say Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the chief reason publishers decided to push some of their games to January 2010 and beyond. Whatever the reason, January 2010 is a busy month for videogame releases. Its more »

Brad Pitt producing Dark Void movie, may even star in it

Most of the movies made from video game adaptations up to date have been less than stellar productions (thanks Uwe Boll), to say the least. From Street Fighter to Doom every one of them has strayed far from the original material and ended up a mess.

Now there is some light shining on video game fans with the news that Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, is making its debut on games-to-film adaptations with Capcom’s upcoming action title Dark Void. Plan B has secured the movie rights for the game and there is even some speculation that Brad Pitt himself might be up for the starring role.
