Dead Head Fred and PQ2 now on PSN

In the grand tradition of PSP games making their way to the PlayStation network, D3 Publisher has just announced that action title Dead Head Fred and puzzler/brain trainer PQ2: Practical Intelligence Quotient 2 are now available for download. Both games are going for $14.99. If I remember correctly, both games are pretty damn good, so if you have the hankering for a little action-adventure, or seriously brain-bending puzzles, you could do worse.

Dead Head Fred wins WGA’s first Video Game Writing award

In times when videogames are being anathematized by anti-game activists, one almost tends to forget that it is an art. A lot goes into the making of a videogame and it is when different disciplines – arts in their own right – espouse. One of those disciplines is videogame writing.

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has, for the first time, bestowed recognition on videogame writing that is rightfully its due. And the PSP game Dead Head Fred was honored with the maiden Video Game Writing Award…

Dead Head Fred up for an award

The Writers Guild of America has nominated the Playstation Portable title Dead Head Fred for its first Video Game Writing Award. The storyline authors Dave Ellis and Adam Cogan are both nominated for their work on the title. This is also quite an honor for the game’s development team, Vicious Cycle Software, and publisher, D3 Publisher of America. This new award has been created to honor and highlight writers in a category which is normally forgotten. On February 9, 2008 it will be revealed if Dead Head Fred will emerge victorious among the other nominees, which include Crash of the Titans, The Simpsons Game, The Witcher and World in Conflict.

D3Publisher and Dimension films announce “One Killer Night” contest
