Rumor: Boob jiggling coming to Dead or Alive 3DS

At E3 2010, an investor was getting some hands-on time with a few 3DS demos. While playing he heard a representative from Tecmo Koei say the breasts would jiggle if you shake the 3DS. It’s nice to see that built-in gyroscope is being put to good use.

Tecmo announces its 3DS lineup

The Nintendo 3DS is coming out swinging. There were a slew of big franchises announced during E3 that are coming to the 3DS such as Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear Solid. Tecmo Koei is also brings some of its most popular titles to the 3DS.

Tomonobu Itagaki unveils his latest game: Devil’s Third (with video)

Tomonobu Itagaki is one of the most outspoken and sometimes controversial video game developers out there. His development team at Tecmo, called Team Ninja, was responsible for Dead or Alive and the re-imaging of Ninja Gaiden, which resulted in one of the best action games out there. After working at Tecmo for a long time, Itagaki decided to go his own way after a desagreement with the company and started Valhalla Game Studios. Now, Itagaki has announced Valhalla’s first title: Devil’s Third.

Dead or Alive creator Itagaki settles lawsuit with Tecmo

Tomonobu Itagaki, the former Team Ninja head who sued Tecmo over unpaid wages, announced a settlement February 26, 2010, with his former employer. Itagaki filed suit in June 2008 claiming unpaid wages and disingenuous statements by former Tecmo CEO Yoshimi Yasuda. No details of the settlement were given, so instead of juicy financial news Itagaki’s release teases us by talking about an upcoming project.

ESRB offers hilarious description of Dead or Alive Paradise (Updated)

Sometimes I wonder if the term “fan service” was created with the Dead or Alive series in mind. The latest game, a PSP game called Dead or Alive Paradise certainly goes above and beyond to deliver the kind of pandering some fans of the series expect to see. It’s a vacation simulation game, with volleyball, mini-games and the ability to make friends with the even more scantily clad than usual Dead or Alive women so you can pictures to oogle later. It’s due out in 2010, and was recently was rated by the ESRB, with some interesting results.

The ESRB description for Dead or Alive Paradise starts out fairly mundane. It announces that it is a PSP game that the ESRB decided to tag a Mature rating on because it has partial nudity, sexual themes and simulated gambling. Pretty typical, and nothing special. But then it moves on to the rating summary, which offers the best video game description I’ve seen in at least a month.

The ESRB summary goes a little something like this…

Voice of Tekken’s Heihachi found dead, police say suicide a possibility

Japanese newspaper The Tokyo Shimbun reports that Daisuke Gouri, the actor who voiced roles including Tekken villain Heihachi Mishima and DragonBall‘s Mr. Satan, died January 17, 2010.

The 57-year-old actor was discovered on the street in Nakano Ward with injuries to his wrist and a knife nearby, as well as a copy of his will. Police are investigating the case as a possible suicide.

Tecmo bringing sexy back to the PSP with Dead or Alive Paradise

Tecmo will be redefining the word “handheld” with its latest announcement, Dead or Alive Paradise, which promises to bring everyone’s favorite batch of barely clothed busty babes to Sony PSP owners in Japan this coming Spring 2010.

Paradise is what you might call a stripped down (pun intended) version of the Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (DOAX) series. DOAX is a game that revolves around the lovely ladies of the DOA series prancing around in sometimes barely-existent bikinis on a beautiful private beach doing anything but fighting.

Tecmo announces Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for Playstation 3

Tecmo knocked the socks off of the lucky individuals who were invited to experience the announcement of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for the Playstation 3. The event was held March 24, 2009, at the Playstation store located at the Metreon in San Francisco, California. There, gawkers were treated to an adrenaline filled trailer showcasing some pretty interesting new elements to be included in the PS3 version of this formerly Xbox 360 exclusive title (Ninja Gaiden 2).

There, a slew of brand new beautifully rendered backdrops and for Ryu Hayabusa to mince oncoming hordes against. Adding to that were the inclusions of all new bigger than life bosses (literally) that included scenes of a huge Buddha statue knocking over a temple on its way through a city as well as Ryu facing off against a perturbed Statue of Liberty bringing to mind the phrase “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”. It’s best to think twice before angering a lady, especially when she’s 300ft tall and could squish you like an ant under her titanic sandal.

Cut/Scenes: Lame game movie night Part 2 – Chopsocky

The Lame Game movie nights continue, as our columnist prepares herself for a whole new world of pain – the martial arts videogame movie. In every Lame Game movie night we watch a double feature of similarly themed game movies that we love or love to hate, in order to gain a deeper appreciation of the genre. This week, we’re all about the fisticuffs, as we endure the one-two punch of Mortal Kombat (1995) and DOA: Dead or Alive (2006).

The evening begins with Mortal Kombat, a cheesy gem from 1995 that features above-average special effects, a killer soundtrack, and some of the better fan service moments moments for a mid-‘90’s movie. The film isn’t half bad, and it certainly doesn’t…
