You must pay for Dead Rising 2: Off the Record cheats

Remember back when I told you about that Xbox 360 indie game called DLC Quest? The one where practically every single thing was DLC, even moving and enemies. We all chuckled at the satire and idea that something like that could happen. Well, it did. With Capcom’s Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, if you want to get specific. Capcom is now charging people for cheat codes.

Back in the good old days, cheat codes in games were something you either unlocked by playing, as seen in the recent Lego Harry Potter video games, or by pressing some combination of buttons at a menu screen. In Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, you need to buy the Gamebreaker DLC add-on to get those bonuses. It’s $4.99 on PSN and 400 Microsoft Points ($5) on XBLA…

Review: Dead Rising 2 for PS3

People love zombies and hack-and-slash games, so Capcom decided to give people another dose of Dead Rising 2. While the original Dead Rising had more of a journalistic spin, especially with photo assignments, Dead Rising 2 is about getting awesome and unique weapons to take down zombies while also searching for Zombrex and the truth. Plus, there’s multiplayer…

Xbox Live Update for the week of December 26, 2010 through January 1, 2011

The year of the zombie couldn’t very well end without an appearance from Frank West. The star of Capcom’s Dead Rising returns in Case West, a standalone downloadable game that teams him up with DR2′s Chuck Greene. Chuck has been framed for the Fortune City zombie incident, while West is still tracking down the conspiracy he discovered in Willamette. The answers will be found in a remote (and no doubt undead-filled) facility near Fortune City. This could be the beginning of a beautiful, zombie-slaying friendship. Case West is 800 Microsoft Points.($10)

Seven things you need to know to thrive in Dead Rising 2

Just as the Citizens for Undead Rights and Equality (aka C.U.R.E) believe zombies are just misunderstood, so it is with Dead Rising 2. At first, I didn’t much care for the game but, as I kept playing and learned what was really going on, I gained an appreciation for the excellent design.

Here are the things you need to know to truly appreciate Dead Rising 2

Dead Rising 2 unleashes Soldier of Fortune pack

Clothes definitely make the man in Capcom’s Dead Rising series, with the latest sequel being no exception.

Dead Rising’s heroes have donned everything from strait jackets to Servbot helmets to mow down zombies. The Soldier of Fortune DLC for Dead Rising 2 allows protagonist Chuck Greene to make like one of The Expendables.

Dead Rising: Case 0 gets last second delay in Japan

Dead Rising: Case 0 was supposed to be released on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow (August 31, 2010). Capcom can’t make the date and has delayed the Japanese release of Case 0 for an undetermined amount of time.

Dead Rising film to be released this year

A movie based on the Dead Rising series has been made and is ready to take the United States by storm. Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun is a film directed by the creator of the series Keiji Inafune. The film will not be shown in theaters. Fans will be able to download the film in segments as the summer progresses.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom welcomes Dead Rising’s Frank West

The wild and wacky collection of characters in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars has added the power of the press. Frank West, the photojournalist at the center of the shopping mall zombie outbreak in Capcom’s Dead Rising, is throwing his Servbot hat into the ring.

Frank showed off his combat skills busting up the zombies of the Willamette Mall, so we know he can handle himself with baseball bats, shopping carts and whatever else is at hand. He joins a Capcom roster including Street Fighter faves Chun Li and Ryu, Viewtiful Joe, who starred in his own self-titled game, and Batsu from fighter Rival Schools. Revealed so far from the Tatsunoko stable of anime characters are luminaries such as Ken The Eagle and Tekkaman, the space knight who battles “for the very future of Earth itself.”
