Pre-orders for Battlefield 3 from Origin come with a free game
EA really, really wants gamers to use Origin. It knows if it can convince gamers to give the service a try just once, it can make long-time customers out of us. Of course, EA needed to tap into the alluring power of Battlefield 3 to lure customers in since Battlefield 3 isn’t being sold on Steam. Pre-orders are already coming with free DLC and access to the Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta, but it will also come with a free game.
Kmart’s June 12 – 18, 2011 ad has an Xbox 360 deal and 16 sale games
Kmart’s June 12-18, 2011 is a little sparce this week, but gamers still may be able to find one or two great deals. This is especially true if you have passed up on one or two recent PS3 or Xbox 360 releases, since 14 console games have been reduced. The best thing to do is go into the ad with no expectations, that way you’ll be pleasantly surprised when something good does appear.
As usual, there’s a console deal…
Xbox Live Update for the week of May 29 through June 4, 2011
It’s a slow week with no new releases for the Xbox Live Arcade. There is a chance to keep your inner LAPD detective happy as L.A. Noire gets two cases in DLC. The Naked City finds Cole Phelps investigating the alleged suicide of a fashion model. Nothing is ever that simple in L.A. Noire. Those who preordered at GameStop get this one for free, otherwise you can buy it for 320 Microsoft Points. ($4) A Slip of the Tongue has you look into a car theft that leads to a huge auto crime ring. Seriously, in 1940s L.A. even simple crimes lead to conspiracies. If Phelps is sent to arrest a jaywalker, it’s probably an attempt to assassinate President Truman. Slip was the Walmart preorder bonus, otherwise it is 320 MP also…
2 free Dead Space 2 maps coming May 31 and June 3
So, Dead Space 2 has been out for four months now. I’m sure you’ve already beaten the single player campaign and the game’s moved out of your main rotation. Well, there’s a reason to dust that disc off now, as EA and Visceral Games have some free DLC planned. We love freebies!
The free Outbreak Map Pack DLC has to do with a part of Dead Space 2 you probably haven’t tired of yet…
Target’s May 22-28, 2011 ad has PS3 and game deals
Target has leaked its own sale ad again this week, and with good reason. There are quite a few good gaming deals, for anyone who’s interested. There’s a PS3 and giftcard promotion, not to mention six good game deals and two extraordinary ones.
The PS3 deal is definitely worth looking at if you don’t already own the system…
Amazon’s May 18, 2011 Gold Box is filled with video games (updated)
It’s another video game day at Amazon today (May 18, 2011). You’re going to want to head to the site and check out that Gold Box, because nine games will be eventually discounted throughout the day. That, and Crysis 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, Windows) is temporarily $34.99. Unless you directly download it to your computer – then it’s $29.99.
Three deals have been revealed so far…
Target’s March 13 – 18, 2011 ad discounts Wiis and console games
Surprise! I know, usually the Sunday ad deal announcements show up on Gamertell on the Saturday before, but the Target ad is an exception this week because the store has already revealed the video game deals it will have in its March 13-18, 2011 ad. It even offered up an ad scan of the relevent pages – how thoughtful! This week there are deals on the Wii, iPod Touch and an assortment of console games…
Toys R Us ad offers discounts on, freebies with game purchases
The Toys R Us ad for February 27 – March 5, 2011 may not be filled with loads of exceptional deals, but there are a few sales that may be worth checking out. This is especially true if you’re thinking about getting a Kinect and some games to go with it, or want to get a special bonus with your standard game purchase. This week you’ll either save money or get a neat little freebie.
The Kinect promotion applies to the Xbox 360 Kinect peripheral and all Kinect games…
Visceral comes through for disabled Dead Space 2 players
Visceral Games is on a bit of a roll when it comes to helping out its gaming community. Last week, a girl named Ashley received an autographed copy of Dead Space 2 and a custom drawing from Visceral after her dog broke her Dead Space 2 disc. Now Visceral Games is hard at work to implement a patch for the PC version of Dead Space 2 in order to assist disabled gamers.
Deal of the Day: Dead Space 2 for $39.99
Looking for a little pick-me-up to start off your week? You may want to engage in the horrendously graphic misadventures of Issac Clark in Dead Space 2. Amazon currently has the Xbox 360 version on sale for $39.99. It’s always great to see a brand new game get a $20 discount for no reason.
