Dead Space for Android now works with multiple devices
The Xperia Play is no longer the only Android device that can officially run Dead Space. EA has placed the game in the Android Market for anyone who has a capable Android device. It’ll cost you $6.99 and requires Android 2.1 or higher (which shouldn’t be a problem). The product page in the Android Market says Dead Space is 2.8MBs, but you can bet there will be a lot more data to download once you start the game. Unless you have an unlimited data plan, you should stick with downloading over Wi-Fi.
Dead Space for iOS is $0.99
Every once in a while, a deal comes along that is so good, you’d think it was done in error. That’s what I thought when I looked in the App Store and saw Dead Space for $0.99 on the iPhone. After trying to download the app several times, I was met with a message that said the game was being modified. My heart was sinking, but suddenly, the purchase went through.
Review: Apple’s iPad 2
The iPad 2 release will probably go down in history as one of the worst choreographed launches a product has seen. It’ll also go down in history as one of the best launches ever seen. As of typing this, Apple is still showing a 4-5 week delay for online orders and still hasn’t launched internationally yet. Retailers have sold out their stock (some of it to scalpers looking to make an overpriced buck) with no indication when more is arriving. Its a loud echo of Nintendo’s Wii launch, parents clamoring to stores desperate to get the modern day Tickle Me Elmo. Only that was Christmas, this is March Madness. There’s no denying the iPad 2 demand is higher then when it’s first generation untested brother was unleashed and eventually awed the world.
When Steve jobs and company finally revealed the iPad 2, many people including myself were underwhelmed..
Seven best horror games for a snowy day
Is winter weather getting you down? Being cooped up due to the weather, especially if you live in a usually lively city, is probably getting rather boring. Trust me. Being a Chicago native, I know due to the recent “blizzard”. You’ve got quite a few options to occupy your time, though. This is going to be a list of some of the best horror games to distract yourself with while you’re trapped within your house.
Some of these do require power but a few games in the list only require a light source (preferably a little spooky), pencils, paper and dice.
Dead Space 2 not making fun of Scientology, they swear
The similarities between Unitology – the religion portrayed in the Dead Space universe – and real-world religion Scientology haven’t gone unnoticed.
The Unitologist fold contains powerful people such as millionaires and celebrities and has roots in science fiction.
In an interview, Dead Space 2‘s creative director Wright Bagwell said Unitology doesn’t represent any actual religion. Instead, the Unitologists represent people’s illogical reaction to things they don’t understand.
Dead Space 2 outselling its predecessor 2-to-1
According to John Schappert, EA’s Chief Operating Officer, in Dead Space 2‘s first week of life on retail shelves there were nearly 2 million copies shipped and it’s already outselling the original game on a 2-to-1 basis. It seems that the work put into the game as well as some of the ads that were running about the game – especially the hilarious “Your mom’s going to hate it” ads – definitely struck a chord with gaming consumers. Congratulations to EA and Visceral Games.
Analysis: Time is of the essence for deciding whether or not to make a live-action dead Space movie
It sounds like the team behind the Dead Space phenomenon is looking into the possibility of a live-action film to compliment the work that’s been put into the franchise. Dead Space co-creator and art director, Ian Milham, told BBC’s Newsbeat that there has been a lot of discussion about the idea but it won’t rushed more »
A live-action Dead Space movie currently being discussed
With all the games out there, some of them seem to lend themselves very well to film. Dead Space has already shown its film potential with two animated features. While there were animation and voice acting quirks with each movie, both Downfall and Aftermath were pretty solid representations of what we could expect from a Dead Space whether we get more animated movies or actually get a live-action movie.
Review: Dead Space Aftermath on DVD, Blu-ray
Dead Space Aftermath tries to tell the untold story of events between the two games while also trying to flesh out this government conspiracy that Dead Space 2 runs with. We follow parts of the crew of the USG O’Bannon as they detail what happened in week before they are picked up off of the dead O’Bannon.
