European gamers won’t be able to launch nukes or throw flaming chainsaws in Twisted Metal on February 14. A new release date hasn’t been set, but Jaffe heard Twisted Metal might be available in Europe on more »

Max Payne 3 delayed by two months

Max-Payne-3

The bad news is we’ll have to wait even longer for Max Payne 3 to be released. The good news is we won’t have to wait much longer than before. This morning, Take-Two announced Max Payne 3 will miss its March 2012 release window, and is being pushed to May 2012 instead.

Xbox 360 dashboard update suffers a slight delay (update #2)

A lot of people woke up this morning expecting to turn on their Xbox 360s and be met with an update prompt. As I’m sure you know by now, the update never made it to you. There’s no need to worry because everyone else in the world has the exact same issue. It turns out the highly anticipated Xbox 360 dashboard update has been met with a setback. Major Nelson took to Twitter not too long ago to inform the public the update “has been slightly delayed.” At this time, we don’t know how long the delay will last.

Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots for Android is delayed

Android gamers were expecting to get a special treat on Cyber Monday that never materialized. Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots was previously announced to be Amazon’s free app of the day, but was replaced by a word game called Dabble HD. It turns out Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots for Android has been delayed for a little while.

Trademark issues hold up European Rocksmith release

Rocksmith will be released as planned in the United States on October 18, but Europe is going to have to wait until sometime in 2012 for their opportunity to own the game. Ubisoft is in a trademark dispute with a band that claims they own the rights to the name “Rocksmith.” Rocksmith’s (the band) percussionist Kris Ford told Eurogamer he tried to work something out with Ubisoft, but the publisher ignored his communications. As a result, Ford was forced to engage in litigation.

Payday: The Heist needs a little more time in the oven

Heists cannot be rushed. They must be meticulously planned and flawlessly executed. One wrong move or shaky hand can be detrimental to everyone who worked so hard to pull off. That’s why Sony Online Entertainment and Overkill Software have decided to hold off on releasing Payday: The Heist. Don’t worry, it’s still coming out in October, we just don’t know when exactly. It’ll be a Tuesday though.

Japan Import: Dark Souls will be one week late

Dark Souls won’t be frustrating and challenging Japanese gamers exactly when it was supposed to. It turns out that there is going to be a very slight delay. It’s only one week though, so the game will be out on September 22, 2011 instead of September 15. Which really isn’t a big deal. I mean, it’s only seven days.

What is odd is that there isn’t any real reason given for said delay…

Twisted Metal moves to 2012

When we first heard about the gaming lineup for 2011, we were amazed about how many potentially great games would be coming out at once. But now some of those games have been delayed. Twisted Metal is the latest big 2011 game to miss its scheduled release date.

PlayStation Vita will miss the 2011 holiday rush

Our hopes of getting our mitts on a PlayStation Vita this holiday season have been dashed. A report from the Associated Press says neither Europe or North America will see the Vita this year. Instead, the Vita will be released in early 2012. Japan on the other hand will get the Vita before 2011 is over.

The Witcher 2 won’t be on the Xbox 360 till 2012

If you’re waiting to play The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on your Xbox 360, prepare to wait a while longer. It was originally supposed to arrive in stores in time for the 2011 Holiday season. Well, it isn’t going to happen. CD Projekt RED says everyone is going to have to wait until 2012.

There’s a really good reason for The Witcher 2 delay though…
