This week’s update includes a bat, two shanks, a red friendship, a coupe of causes and a bit of “Doh!”
Nintendo Downloads for October 20, 2011
Talk about disappointing Nintendo Downloads updates! Nintendo, you will never, ever be even passingly compared to Xbox Live Arcade or the PlayStation Store if you only have three downloads available in an update! It’s like some kind of bad joke, really. All there is to look through is Double Dragon (3DS Virtual Console), Castle Conqueror: Revolution (DSiWare) and Fish Tank (WiiWare). It’s like some kind of bad joke.
Well, there is one new development. It turns out the Nintendo Video DreamWorks Animation shorts are going to be sold on the eShop. There will be three available first, with two of them being “Night of the Living Carrots” and “The Pig Who Cried Werewolf.” If you want one, you’ll have to pay $1.99 each when they eventually show up in the eShop.
Double Dragon gets an iOS remake
Double Dragon returns, and this time it should look better than ever before. Brizo Interactive and Aksys Games are working on Double Dragon iPhone, an enhanced remake that might just leave you feeling both nostalgic and pleasantly surprised. The essense and spirit is the same, but there are lots of upgrades designed to give players a whole new appreciation for the classic…
Wii Virtual Console update for April 28-May 4, 2008
We have a rather skimpy (though undoubtedly classic) update on the Virtual Console this week, with Double Dragon (NES) carrying the torch. This tends to happen when Nintendo has a 1st party Wii title out (Mario Kart Wii, in this case), but at least this week it’s a nice nostalgia-dripping title like Double Dragon and not, say, China Warrior. All VC titles are available on the Wii Shop channel, with a fresh batch arriving every Monday at 9 AM Pacific time. Wii points can be purchased at a rate of $1 for 100 points. The new game brings the North American count to 221.
