Valve is making its own free-to-play game

Last week, Valve started allowing free-to-play games operate on its digital distribution platform Steam. The microtransaction business model in games is one that works. It’s especially popular in MMORPGs. Through this method, we’ve seen seemingly doomed games such as APB get reborn with a new audience. Now Valve may be trying its hand in the free-to-play space.

Left 4 Dead on PS3? Valve continues to tease

Valve has had a bumpy history with the PS3. The company has gone on record several times saying how complicated the PS3′s architecture is and how it has no interest developing for the console. Speaking in an interview with Kikizo, Lombardi revealed that the “next time you play as Gordon will be longer than the distance between…

Valve clarifies Xbox Live’s Portal expansion

Reports last month of additional content to paradigm-busting, platitude-eliciting puzzler Portal were heart-stopping revelations for die-hards Valve fans.

But, according to GameSetWatch, Valve’s Doug Lombardi said the new levels for Portal will be culled from the Portal: The Flash Game map pack. While there’s still plenty of reasons for console players to be happy, there are now a few to get riled up about, too…
