GameStop’s Cyber Monday 2010 sales
GameStop’s Cyber Monday 2010 specials have gone live. They say Cyber Monday is the online equivalent to Black Friday as far as sweet deals go. Whether that statement holds any weight depends on what you’re looking for. Walmart has deals going on all week, but its initial offerings leave much to be desired. Now it’s GameStop’s turn to win you over.
BioWare: “Saying that you want to make a triple A game is no longer a viable goal”
BioWare is known for some big name franchises such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Not too many studios are expected to create a blockbuster with every title that comes out the door. BioWare’s situation is unique and assumingly stressful. BioWare’s co-founder Dr. Greg Zeschuk thinks it’s important for developers to not aspire to create triple A titles right out the gate.
BioWare officially announces Dragon Age 2
After a great deal of teasing and rumors, BioWare has finally let the cat out of the bag. Dragon Age 2 is drawing ever closer and looks to be coming in 2011. This should come to no surprise, of course, as there have been a number of little details pointing to that being the case.
General consensus was that the head honchos at Electronic Arts and BioWare weren’t going to let such a massive world — with so much left to do and see — go without the sequel treatment for long. When the Awakening expansion pack came out, it included a little card with a blood dragon on it that hinted at 02.01.2011 (February 2, 2011). It was all but certain, considering they’d also confirmed that there would be a new Dragon Age title of some kind just a month prior.
BioWare’s Dragon Age to become FUNimation anime film
=Role-playing games are a natural source for movie material with their long, expansive stories and unique characters. As such, it shouldn’t be a surprise that someone has tapped BioWare’s Dragon Age franchise for anime film treatment.
FUNimation Entertainment, the company that made Dragon Ball a household name among anime properties in the United States, will begin a Dragon Age anime feature in May 2010, slated for a 2011 home video release.

Who’s On Crack in video games for March 26, 2010
Welcome to the first installment of Who’s On Crack (in video games), a concept rudely stolen, er, politely borrowed from another site. The basic idea is this: People do crazy schtuff. Companies, which are run by people, do crazy stuff on a much larger scale. And when you mix fantasy worlds, die-hard fandom and entertainment industry PR, even crazier stuff happens.
Oghren returns in Dragon Age expansion
You know how back when the expansion to the much-beloved Dragon Age: Origins was first announced, BioWare stated that a “player-favorite” would be returning to the party? Yeah, somehow, they seem to have gotten this one all wrong.
Welcome back Oghren, folks.
You remember Oghren, don’t you? He’s the little drunken dwarf berserker from Orzammar. The lovable scamp that is literally forced down your throat during the dwarven section of the main quest. Apparently, since he fought with the Grey Warden and helped halt the fifth Blight, he’s made somewhat of a name for himself. He settled down, had a kid, but that old berserker instinct couldn’t be settled forever. So, he’s back in the saddle again, as it were, and ready to stomp on some Darkspawn faces.
Romantic games for the perfect Valentine’s Day
Tired of the old dinner and movie every Valentines day? Well perhaps this February 14th you can just stay in with your valentine and play a few video games with your “special” lovebird.
Here are a few “romantic” games that involve dating, getting your date to snuggle, and other things you wish you were doing instead of sitting in front of your TV. If these games don’t get you in that “special” mood…well that’s probably a good thing.
Electronic Arts earnings report wrap-up
EA’s Q3 earnings report yielded a wide array of news yesterday. In addition to all the big numbers being thrown left and right, a lot of game announcements were made too. EA’s 2011 fiscal year ends March 31, 2011 so these games are expected to be on store shelves by then.
