Target luring in Mother’s Day shoppers with iPod nano and DS lite bundle discounts
Target’s having quite the sale on electronics to lure people in search of Mother’s Day gifts. Those with gamer moms may want to stop by as both the new lime green DS lite bundle and the iPod nanos are slightly reduced.
The lime green DS lite bundle, complete with Personal Trainer: Cooking and a matching carrying case, is on sale for $139, as opposed to the normal price of $149.99. I took the liberty of gazing through the Sunday ads for Best Buy, Toys ‘R Us and Kmart, they were right in front of me after all, and found that all three are advertising the same bundle for the standard $149.99 price.
The 8gb, 4th generation iPod nanos seem to be a less spectacular deal, since the sale price is $146 compared to the normal price of $149.99. However, if you purchase said iPod nano during the sale period, you also receive a Soap & Glory $25 value bath set…
Long Live the DS: Nintendo releasing a DS Lite bundle in time for Mother’s Day
Typically, when a new incarnation of a console is released, the older version is gradually phased out. When the DSi debuted, people were left to wonder and speculate just how many days left the DS lite had. It’s looking like the DS lite’s time isn’t up yet. Nintendo has just announced a new bundle and color for that system that will be released on May 3, 2009.
The DS Lite green spring bundle is being strategically released just before Mother’s Day (May 10, 2009). It includes a lime green DS lite, a copy of the Touch Generations game Personal Trainer: Cooking and a stylish green and white DS carrying case. Kind of a cute ensemble, if I do say so myself. Normally, I’m not particularly partial to green, but the shade used for the system and case is rather appealing.
Amazon already has a listing up for the newest bundle and is accepting preorders…

Nintendo brings Dialga and Palkia DS to the US
Japan isn’t the only country receiving exceptionally pretty, limited run DSes. Nintendo has just announced that, on August 17, 2008, a Limited Edition DS Pokemon Pack will be available in stores. The pack includes an etched, black DS lite and additional Pokemon items for $129.99.
The selling point of the package is the black DS lite with pictures Dialga and Palkia, two legendary pokemon from Pokemon Diamond/Pearl etched on the front of it. It also comes with a matching DS lite case that has the same design on the cover, a mini poster and a DVD with an animated movie called Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness. Nintendo has declared the bundle a limited edition, but there is no word on how many units are being produced or how long it will be sold.
