Review: Lego Battles Ninjago for DS
Do you choose to play as the four ninjas set out to recover the weapons first and save the world or are you going to take the role of the skeleton army and to hell with the rest of the world? Read our review to see whether or not it is even worht deciding…
Review: Pokemon Black and White for DS
I suppose in one way I’m exactly the audience Nintendo wants for a new Pokemon game: I’m completely new to the franchise. I’ve never played a previous Pokemon game, I’ve never watched a movie, and I’ve never held a card. I’m not entirely sure how the Gamertell.com preview copies ended up in my hands, but they did. And despite myself, I’m glad they did.
Review: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for DS
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is just begging to be a prime time TV show. The main character has just been shot and killed. He doesn’t know why or by whom, but he’s obtained the ability to travel back in time four minutes to alter the fates of others. Also, there’s a talking dog, a detective with a pigeon on his head, a chicken restaurant, a giant submarine, and a punk rock guitarist who flushes secret messages through a prison toilet to a guy with a sausage shaped head.
Gamertell Review: Zenonia for Nintendo DSi
Zenonia is now available as a DSiWare download, as well as for Android and PSP. The DSi version mostly handles the issues the game had with its iPhone release but introduces a couple of its own. I’ll get to all of that in a minute. First, some Regret…
Gamertell Review: Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain for DS
Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain may be the greatest videogame title of all time, right? Doesn’t it just sound kick-ass? You’ve got fighting, you’ve got fantasy, you’ve got warlocks and you’ve got mountains with fire on top of them, apparently. What else do you need… other than a skeleton? If this game were called Fighting Fantasy: The Skeleton Warlock of Firetop Mountain, it would’ve ruptured my geek gland.
Obviously, with a title like this, the developers are aiming at the hardcore crowd. This therefore isn’t your typical DS game and probably shouldn’t even be on this system. It’s better suited for the PC or PSP (a version for which was canceled) gaming audience. But here it is on the DS, so fans of hardcore dungeon crawlers can celebrate, provided they’re willing to put up with some problems.
Gamertell Review: Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes for DS
Clash of Heroes is set in the venerable Might & Magic universe. I’ve played a couple of those games on my Mac, but this entry is quite a bit different. It’s not your traditional turn-based strategy game, but an odd mix of that, RPG and Bejeweled-style gem matching games. If you’re thinking, “Oh, you mean Puzzle Quest,” then I’ll have to work harder to explain what makes Clash of Heroes so much better.
Shiro Tsuji’s edu-game, Music, coming to DS October 2009
Shiro Tsuji, a famous Japanese musician, believes that anyone can learn to read music and play an instrument. He’s created a unique game for the DS appropriately named Music.
Music is a game that allows you to learn the basics of music in a fun way. Tsuji wants your learning experience to be beneficial but also fun since everyone learns better when having fun
