The Kyocera Echo is the DS of the smartphone world
The nifty little device you see here is not a mock-up of a Nintendo smartphone. It is a brand new device called the Kyocera Echo. It was announced today as the first ever dual-screen Android smartphone. The Kyocera Echo will be released on Sprint in spring 2011 for $199.99. Of course, that is more than likely the subsidized price after agreeing to a two-year contract.
Gamertell Review: Nintendo’s DSi handheld game system
Nintendo has ruled the handheld market for quit a while, producing two of the best-selling systems ever. With the DSi, the GameBoy is entirely forgotten, at least in physical form, as the GBA cart slot is removed and has been replaced with a much more modern (and potentially useful) SD/SD-HC memory card slot.
Slap a couple digital cameras on it, build in a couple extra apps and add a lowercase “i’ to the end of the name and, yeah, you can make an even better game system.

Also check out the Photo Gallery of comparison shots of the two systems next to each other as well the several of just the DSi.

I was sent an email link to a survey site that was marked with the Nintendo logo and featured a few questions about handheld gaming in general, followed by five or six screens of questions specifically about the Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP, followed by several screens of DS Lite questions. Bascially, the tone of the survey pretty much pitted the GameBoy against the DS. (Note that at one point the survey indicated all references to “GameBoy” were meant to be “GameBoy Advance SP”).
A few of the GameBoy-related questions in the survey include…
