Ubisoft gets casual its E3 2007 offerings
At today’s Ubisoft press conference (July 12, 2007), the company showed off several casual DS titles alongside the more hardcore offerings of Assassin’s Creed and Haze, including new Petz offerings, new brands Imagine and MyCoach, and guitar simulator Jam Sessions.
The conference began with a discussion of the popular pet-simulator Petz line on the DS, which includes Horses, Dogz, Hamsterz and Catz, and announced Tigerz and Dolphinz. The line apparently makes up 10% of the company’s business, a figure they would like to see expanded to 20%.

Nintendo reveals online games
At yesterday’s E3 press conference (July 11, 2007), Nintendo made quite a few announcements regarding the company’s online strategy. Chiefly, full online support will be given to the Wii’s upcoming Madden 08, FIFA 08, Mario Strikers Charged, and a new Mario Kart title (due out in the first quarter of 2008). The new Mario Kart will support online racing and online battle on Nintendo’s existing wi-fi infrastructure.
Additionally, two new features were announced, expanding the existing online Wii options…
Nintendo announces Wii Zapper
At Nintendo’s E3 press conference today (July 11, 2007), Reggie Fils-Aime showed off the new Wii Zapper for the first time ever. Nintendo announces Wii Fit
At Nintendo’s E3 2007 conference today (July 11, 2007), the company unveiled their latest innovative property – Wii Fit. Shiguru Miyamoto himself came onstage to demonstrate the exercise simulator, complete with it’s own wireless peripheral, the Wii balance board, which gauges weight and motion by using pressure points.

Nintendo’s E3 2007 press conference wrap-up
Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime was in high spirits today (July 11, 2007) as he opened Nintendo’s annual E3 press event, rattling off sales figures that indicated Nintendo world domination, especially in the expanding non-traditional markets.
The conference was peppered by montages showing just how much media attention the Wii (and the DS) is receiving by mainstream media, and how far the Nintendo has penetrated the non-gamer marketing, showing families, women, older people, and even toddlers getting down with all the Nintendo action. Nintendo announces new Wii peripherals, new titles
Today (July 11, 2007) at the company’s E3 press conference, Nintendo announced new peripherals for the Wii, including the Wii Zapper, Wii Wheel, and Wii Balance Board, along with the brand new titles designed around them.
The Zapper uses both the nunchuck and Wii-mote, and was designed for use with the upcoming Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad and a new Medal of Honor title. Reggie announced that the zapper will be packed in with software with a MSRP of $19.99.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion gets a new edition
Bethesda Softworks is announcing this morning (July 9, 2007) that it will be releasing a “Game of the Year” edition of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The GOTY version will include the full game plus the “Shivering Isles” and “Knights of the Nine” expansion packs.
The “Nights of Nine” expansion pack was originally available late March 2007 for the Xbox 360 and Windows releases, a year after the core game was released, and included in the PS3 version’s final release.

Guessing what to expect at E3 2007
Videogame blogs are spending plenty of time trying to predict as to what to expect at E3 this year and all the predictions and previews are, well, pretty silly. After all, no one won’t really knows what is announced until it is announced. (Duh.) Anything else is really just a fun guess.

Playstation Store update for the week of July 2-8, 2007
It looks like most of the offerings in Sony’s most recent Playstaion Store Update have been available for a while. The biggest deal, however, is that Sony plans to make game trailers available for download all week during E3 2007. Here’s a screen cap of the top of the email:

Microsoft brings E3 2007 to your home through Xbox Live
Microsoft is once again offering Xbox Live members a chance to check out exclusive E3 2007 content and through the Xbox Live service. The service is titled “E3: Bringing It Home,” not to be confused with Sony’s “Playstation Home” service coming out later this year for the PS3.
E3 content will be available beginning July 10-13, 2007, in both standard definition and HD, downloadable through Xbox Live’s Marketplace. The majority of the content will be game trailers by companies releasing Xbox 360 games including a few Microsoft Game Studios projects.
