Open Letter: Hey, Nintendo, reveal Zelda Wii already, will ya?!

I’ve had it.

I’ve had it with the smoke and mirrors, subtle hints and deception.

Just announce the next Legend of Zelda Wii game already!

It’s not that I‘m interested in it. I’m still playing my way through The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I’m sick of the teasing, hinting and constant reports on any trivial detail related to it…

E3 2009: The 10 best games announced for the Wii

E3 2009 is all over now and the games have all been announced. It’s time to look at the best of the best, specifically for the Wii.

There were a ton of games announced at E3 that all look very good, so I limited it to the best ten, which really only makes this a sampling. Games are listed in no particular order.

E3 2009: Gamepark Holdings “hardly had time to rest”

As game companies begin to regain some sense of sanity a week after E3 2009, some are starting to send reactions to the event.

Located at Booth 500, Gamepark Holdings Co., Ltd., was demonstrating its latest open source handheld game system, the GP2X Wiz.

Here’s the company’s reaction to E3 2009…

Opinion: How Nintendo won E3 2009

At E3 2009, Microsoft showed us the future of gaming with Project Natal. Nintendo addressed the hardcore Nintendo fan’s concerns and Sony came out swinging with stuff all across the board.

If you are looking for a clear cut “winner,” however, I think you have to look at Nintendo. While Microsoft wins as my favorite presentation, Nintendo accomplished everything it set out to do and that’s comfort both gaming fans and Nintendo fans alike, by reassuring us that Nintendo hasn’t given itself completely up to the idea of catering only to a “casual” market.

Hidden gems of E3 2009

By now, we all know the big games of E3 2009 – New Super Mario Bros. Wii, BioShock 2, Mass Effect 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, God of War III, and oh yeah, that game with the Beatles. But there were plenty of under-the-radar surprises at this year’s show – quality games that looked great without the benefit of the hype machine. The following are my top three picks that came right out of left field and made a major impression.

E3 2009: The flops, weaks spots and not-so-hots

E3 2009 was pretty successful. We saw some interesting games, a new PSP incarnation and quite a few extra peripherals. For the most part, a very productive couple of days.

But, there were a few stains upon an otherwise spotless event.

Yes, I’m talking about the flops.

The moments when those watching the keynotes, events or reports had to sit back and wonder what the companies could possibly be thinking. You look at the announcements and think, “You could do better!” or “Please sir, another morsel!”

E3 2009: Best of the handhelds (PSP & DS)

E3 2009 has come and gone in a fluster of press conferences, announcements and releases. Now’s a good time to sit back and regroup, taking time to process the new wealth of information we possess.

The handheld consoles did particularly well this year. The DS had quite a few interesting game announcements that surely delighted the system’s fans. The PSP also had quite a few big name game announcements, as well as a whole new model debut.

Join Gamertell as we revisit what we felt were some of the biggest handheld E3 announcements…

E3 2009: Best of the PS3

Even though the Sony press conference was one of the last press conferences to be held it did its job of hyping up the PlayStation brand very well. Sony spent the first half of the press conference talking about the PS2 and PSP with a sprinkling of PS3 news here and there. However the latter half of the presentation was ripe with the future of the PS3 and we summed up the best parts.

E3 2009: Assassin’s Creed 2 update

The Animus has been activated again at Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 2 website and, let me tell you, it looks hot.

During the E3 2009 conference attendees were given a glimpse of the sequel titled Assassin’s Creed 2. The only confirmed date is the US release date of November 17, 2009, for Xbox and PS3.

Even though the scenery and times have changed, the war between the Templars and the Assassins wages on. In the game players control…

PlayStation Store Update: E3 2009 wrap up, more downloadable music (June 8 to June 13, 2009)

This week’s PlayStation Store is featuring the game Trash Panic by Sony Computer Entertainment America. It’s an eco-friendly puzzle available for download for $4.99 that pits up to two players against the clock challenging them to dispose of garbage as quickly as possible as random garbage is delivered via crane that is controlled using the DualShock 3 controller. The more garbage you can remove the higher your score.

For those who missed E3 2009, there is a category titled “E3 2009″ in the PlayStation store containing videos of interviews, game content and trailers for download. Also in the store this week, featured video collections inspired by video games and don’t forget episode 1 of Dexter is free for today (June 8, 2009) only.
