Important Importables: Square Enix
Square Enix is like a member of the family for most gamers. The company has been around forever and is one of the biggest publishers and developers out there. It’s best known for its days as Square, when it made a name for itself creating some of the best RPGs ever, and has since branched out since acquiring Enix, Eidos and Taito to cover multiple genres. If you’ve been playing games for any substantial period of time, then odds are you’ve played at least one Square Enix game.
Which is why we’re looking back at the company in today’s Important Importables. We’re just briefly reviewing the company’s history, then offering up a few classic game suggestions in case you have some spare time and feel like reliving, or perhaps making, some memories.
Hitman: Absolution revealed, more at E3

Square Enix and Eidos giving away Deus Ex game codes through Facebook
It’s understandable if your heart suddenly dropped after learning Dues Ex: Human Revolution is being delayed until Square Enix’s next fiscal year. At least Square Enix will be using that time wisely by polishing Deus Ex: Human Revolution for its eventual release. To soften the blow from this sad news, Square Enix and Eidos is giving out PC Steam codes for Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War. These codes will be given away until Human Revolution comes out.
Eidos isn’t done with Kane and Lynch
Kane and Lynch are two characters that can’t catch a break. Their first game wasn’t received especially well, but that didn’t stop Eidos and IO Interactive from releasing Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days in August of this year. To its credit, Dog Days had a very unique shaky cam visual style that was an attention getter. That didn’t help Dog Days from getting mediocre review scores, but Eidos isn’t giving up on the duo yet.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light online co-op coming to Xbox 360 first
Online co-op was the most desired feature in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Unfortunately the game was not released with that functionality. After a long wait, Crystal Dynamics is ready to put out a patch that will finally enable online co-op in the game.
