Telltale has released a Back to the Future game for Facebook

Telltale Games is branching out into the world of Facebook with it’s new free to play game Back to the Future: Blitz Through Time.

This kicks off a major new initiative for the company’s publishing strategy that will see complementary free-to-play social games launch in advance of many major Telltale game releases. In this case, Back to the Future: Blitz Through Time is promoting their upcoming 5 part episodic Back to the Future game for the PC, Mac, Playstation Network, and IPad.

The free King’s Quest adventure continues in The Silver Lining: Two Households

Time to dive back into The Silver Lining! Phoenix Online Studios has released “Two Households,” the second episode of the free downloadable game, so if you enjoy adventure games on your computer, it’s time to pick up where you left off. Or head to the official site and pick up episodes one and two for the first time. Either way works and it’s free, so you’ve got nothing to lose…

First details on Telltale’s Back to the Future game

Telltale is a busy studio these days. Sam and Max is still running strong, a big crossover is expected to be revealed tomorrow (September 2, 2010) and a Back to the Future episodic game is in development. Telltale once released a survey asking fans to help determine the direction Back to the Future would take. We hope Telltale took that advice to heart as it reveals the first details on the upcoming Back to the Future game.

The Silver Lining Chapter 1, Episode 1 debuts July 10, 2010

Way back in March, 2010, Activision put an end to the free fan-project The Silver Lining, which would have been a downloadable, episodic King’s Quest PC sequel. Well, you can’t keep a good, free fan-project down! Activision has seen fit to allow Phoenix Online to go through with its The Silver Lining release! And the first episode will be released July 10, 2010! And it’s still free!

Phoenix Online announced the good news was via The Silver Lining website. Said website is now open and filled with good news! The forums are active and there’s even a game trailer available to watch.

Speaking of the trailer, let’s check it out…

GamesCom 2009: Fable II to become an episodic adventure and Fable III will be out in 2010

If you’re an Xbox 360 owner and Fable fan, there’s some great news that’s come out of GamesCom 2009. Microsoft and Lionhead Studios have big plans for the hallmark series, involving Xbox Live Arcade and an entirely new entry.

First, Fable III is in development and will be released for the 2010 holiday season. I know, it’s a long wait. But look at it this way – Fable III allows you to load your Fable II save data into the game, so your new hero/heroine is the child of your old character. It’s good motivation to finish the Fable II.

While Fable II was about heroism, Fable III is all about royalty…

Xbox 360 and PC owners prepare for Grand Adventures with Wallace and Gromit

Telltale Games has just revealed that its first XBox LIVE Arcade episodic game is going to be, drumroll please, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures. As you can tell, it’s going to star the famous Aardman Animations duo. Seems like a perfect fit to me. We’ll all have to wait until the Q2 2009 to start playing the first episode though.

It turns out that Aardman Animations is working with Telltale Games when it comes to the storyline and characters, so the characters will seem exactly like they do in the short films. Telltale has also confirmed that players will get to control both Wallace and Gromit, and…

Warner Bros. making episodic Watchmen game

The upcoming graphic novel turned film The Watchmen will also be made into a videogame in 2009. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced July 24,2008, that the game will be based on the movie with an emphasis on the character personalities. Warner Bros. promises The Watchmen videogame will be an episodic experience available on Playstation Network, Xbox Live and PC.

Warner Bros. is taking a slightly different approach to producing a videogame tie-in to a movie. Given that history of movie-based games as being, well, less than stellar, Warner Bros. has decided to release at least two…

Telltalle Games releases new Sam & Max trailer, free episode

If there’s going to be a game based on a dog and a rabbit-type creature who go around busting up crime, there’s no better place for it to go than to the Nintendo Wii. Sam & Max Season 1 will be released Fall 2008 in the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom.

Sam and Max Season 1 is a port of the popular PC point-and-click series with six episodes making up the entire game. You’ll be able to play the episodes in any order without mixing up the overall story. The hypnosis-themed plot of the game introduces off-the-wall characters with comedy to match.

Telltale Games is also giving out a free PC copy of the first Sam & Max Season 2 episode “Ice Station Santa.” All you have to do is sign up for the company’s…
