Killzone 3 and CoD: Black Ops get double XP weekends on PS3
Now that the PlayStation Network back online to an extent, it’s time for gamers to get back to killing each other online. This weekend will mark the first full week of PSN access since the outage. As such, the Call of Duty: Black Ops double XP weekend that was supposed to occur a few weeks ago, has been rescheduled for this weekend. Starting today (May 20, 2011) and lasting until next Tuesday at 10am, every Black Ops player will rank up twice as fast. We can only assume they will also have twice as much fun.

Insomniac Games had such a great response to the Community it held in 2008 to celebrate the release of Resistance 2 , the company is doing the same thing for Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. There will be free food, rare swag and a chance to see the latest installment in the best selling Ratchet and Clank series.
Kirby clouds invaded the skies
Back on Tuesday, Gamertell reported that Nintendo was going to be holding a mystery event yesterday (September 18, 2008) promoting Kirby Super Star Ultra at various locations with “Kirby” in the name. It turns out the ‘event’ was Nintendo and Flogos releasing thousands of Kirby-shaped clouds into the air. So if you live in Birmingham AL, Medford, NJ, Memphis, TN or Kingston, PN and you thought you saw pink Kirbys floating through the air, you’re weren’t hallucinating. You were just seeing a really cool marketing promotion.
Gamertell reader Brian left a tip on the original story, alerting us to the presense of Kirby clouds and mentioning that Flogos‘ clouds are made of biodegradable soap and used to promote items and events. For today’s event, the company used its machines to create pink iconic game character replicas. In an official press release from Nintendo, Greg Stanhope of Flogos stated that the Kirby clouds mark Flogos’ first use of colored clouds for a campaign…
Toys R Us midnight Star Wars: Clone Wars event, life-size action figure giveaway
As if fans really need another reason to get psyched about the upcoming animated Star Wars: Clone Wars film, Toys R Us is having an in-store midnight sales event featuring Clone Wars products and also giving away four five-feet tall Clone Wars action figures.
Doors to select stores will open at 12:01 a.m., July 26, 2007 (that’s late Friday or really early Saturday, depending on how you look at it). On shelves will be various Star Wars related items including action figures, building sets, models and, of course, video games…
Gaia Online prepares for Rejected Olympics
From July 21 through 27, 2008, Gaia Online will host its very own Rejected Olympics. The event is free and open to registered Gaia members.

Dungeon & Dragons (with Girls!) charity event being held for 826NYC
826NYC, a nonprofit organization which runs a writing workshop for kids between the ages of 6~18, is going to be holding a very special fundraiser on May 9, 2008 at 7pm. A huge Dungeons & Dragons event, called “Dungeons & Dragons (With Girls!), is going to be held at their 372 5th Avenue center in Brooklyn, New York. People over the age of 21 are invited to register at the official site and attend the event.
Girls get to play for free, but guys have to pay $25. All the money goes to support the 826NYC center though, so its for a good cause. Once you’ve registered, you can donate real money to purchase gold for your character to use at the event.
