Playdom develops the most popular Facebook game of 2011
Believe it or not, Zynga did not create the most popular Facebook game of the year. That feat goes to Playdom whose game Gardens of Time beat out all others. Zynga still occupies a lot of spaces on Facebook’s list of top games for 2011, so one could argue it still dominates the social gaming more »

Fullmetal Battle brings Fullmetal Alchemist card battles to iOS
Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the many anime series to really resonate with fans worldwide. It’s built a large audience among both men and women, and I’m sure they’ll all be pleased to know there’s a way to take a bit of the series with you whenever you leave the house. Facebook will not start developing its own games
Facebook is evolving into a website that offers just about anything a web surfer would want to do. Watching TV shows, reading personalized news, and listening to music can all be done from within Facebook, Facebook also has a commanding presence in the gaming industry. It was a major player in the rise of “casual gaming”, and big publishers such as EA have invested a lot in its social gaming projects. Even though it’s in a position of dominance, Facebook will not take the extra step and start developing its own games.
DC Universe Online free-to-play option appears to be a hit

There aren’t many that can’t sustain a monthly subscription fee. By going free-to-play, the barrier of entry is removed and it entices new players to try out a game they may have been totally disinterested in days earlier. Sony Online Entertainment is hoping it will make more money by making DCUO free. SOE has every opportunity to succeed in this regard. In fact, if we were to base the reaction to DCUO‘s free-to-play transition on Facebook interactions, we could argue the game is already well on its way to being more successful than ever.

A new website will also be launched once the transition is complete. If you are going to play DCUO on PC, you can download the client right now.
