Nintendo 3DS analog stick peripheral leaked in magazine
In late August, a rumor surfaced that said Nintendo is making some changes to the 3DS. Among the biggest changes was a second analog stick that would be sold separately for $10. This rumor may have seemed like a stretch back then, but it is very much true.
Resident Evil Revival Selection takes old games and makes them prettier
Add a couple more games to the growing trend of re-releases. Resident Evil has joined the HD remake party with Resident Evil Revival Selection. Resident Evil Revival Selection was allegedly revealed in an upcoming issue of Famitsu magazine. The selection is comprised of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica Director’s Cut.
Anarchy Reigns is a story of war, disease and terrorism
Anarchy Reigns has been short on details since it was announced. Besides information on the characters and some brief gameplay descriptions, Sega played it close to the chest. In the latest issue of Famitsu, we’re treated with story details that are deeper than we could have imagined.
Project Dark is really Dark Souls
The last time we heard about From Software and Namco Bandai’s “Project Dark,” it was September and the 2010 Tokyo Game Show was in full swing. There was a logo, hints that it would be another action RPG, like Demon’s Souls, and a promise of a 2011 full reveal. Well, it’s 2011 right now and look! Famitsu has a reveal for Dark Souls, the game formerly known as “Project Dark”…
Resident Evil: Revelations brings horror back to the franchise
There are a couple Resident Evil games that will grace the 3DS. The first game, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, is 70% complete and will most likely ship first. The second game, which is 20% complete, is called Resident Evil: Revelations. Unlike Mercenaries, Revelations will be a story driven game that retains certain characteristics of past Resident Evil games.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D has character customization, FPS camera
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will be the first Resident Evil game to appear on the 3DS. There are some brand new details about the game in the latest issue of Famitsu that has been kindly translated by andriasang. There’s a wealth of information in the article including why Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D includes a first-person camera, and how cooperative play will function.
Next Yakuza game is full of zombies
When you think Yakuza, you tend to think about crime. In terms of the games, you think about a guy beating up countless goons with a sword in hand and nunchucks in his back pocket. Zombies and the Japanese mafia aren’t usually spoken of in the same sentence. Thanks to Sega, they will be in the same game.
Famitsu interview suggests playable Wii Zelda game at E3 2010
There’s some pleasant news out of Japan today for Wii owners. Andriasang reports that Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma said in a recent Famitsu that the next The Legend of Zelda Wii game could be playable at E3 2010. Also interesting is the suggestion that the new Zelda game could even be released in 2010.
And no, there’s still no solid information to go on. No official name, no release window, no box art and no screenshots. All we have is that image at the right that appeared at E3 2009 and the knowledge that it will require the MotionPlus peripheral. It’s kind of sad, really. All we have is speculation and the tiny tidbits of hope that Nintendo executives decide we’re worthy of knowing.
If the name Eiji Aonuma doesn’t sound familiar, then you obviously haven’t played many Zelda games. Aonuma is a designer, director and producer whose previous video game credits include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time…
Mega Man 10 will appear on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii
Good news for Mega Man fans. Nintendo Power may have made Mega Man 10 sound like a WiiWare exclusive, but Famitsu has just revealed that it’s not. Mega Man 10 will be appearing as a download via WiiWare, the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Arcade.
Mega Man 10 sends Mega Man, or Proto Man, to save the world yet again. The Robotenza virus is infecting robots, causing them to go mad and behave in unpredictable and violent manners. Even poor Roll, Mega Man’s little sister, has been infected by the virus. Depending on which character you choose to play as, the story will be different.
Famitsu also revealed that Mega Man 10 will have difficult levels. There will be an easy mode for players (like me) who had trouble making it through Mega Man 9. Hurray…
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is now the fastest selling Wii game in Japan
There’s good news for Nintendo and New Super Mario Bros. Wii coming out of Japan today. Famitsu and Enterbrain have just released the sales figures of the latest Mario adventure, showing how well it sold during its first four days in Japan. Let’s just say it did very well. I think 936,734 copies qualities for very well. Maybe even for extraordinarily well.
This sales figure now means that it is the fastest selling Wii game in Japan. The previous record holder was another Nintendo game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Its first week sales record was around 816,000 copies, according to Andriasang. That means New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold over 120,000 more copies.
Of course, this kind of success was already anticipated…
