Zynga’s value could surpass $20 billion after initial public offering

CNBC is reporting that Zynga could file paperwork for an initial public offering of stock this week. The social media powerhouse hopes to raise as much as $2 billion from the IPO. Morgan Stanley will lead the deal.

According to the article, some industry estimates place Zynga’s value at between $15-20 million after the stock offering is done. That would make it even more valuable than Activision Blizzard, with an estimated value of $13 billion.

AT&T teams with Zynga to bring exclusive content to wireless customers

Zynga and AT&T announced a partnership today that will give AT&T customers exclusive access to Zynga content. Later this year, Zynga’s games such as FarmVille, Zynga Poker and Words with Friends will become more visible in AT&T’s place in the Android Market. This could help to make the already huge Zynga even bigger.

Facebook smash CityVille breaks 100 million user mark

It’s safe to say this CityVille thing has caught on with the folks using Facebook. The game has surpassed the 100 million monthly user mark.

Even more amazing is the game is barely one month old. The former most popular Facebook application, FarmVille, is sitting at 57 million monthly users. Social gaming powerhouse Zynga created both of them and currently boasts more than 200 million monthly users.

CityVille is the new social gaming phenomenon, reaching a ridiculous 84 million monthly users recently. That narrowly edges FarmVille’s highest number, 83.76 million monthly users, posted in March 2010.

Class action lawsuit filed against Zynga

Yesterday’s discovery of a massive Facebook information leak has prompted one individual to file a class action lawsuit against Zynga. Zynga is one of the companies whose programs were found to be leaking user information to third-party advertisers. Three of Zynga’s games including FarmVille, FrontierVille and Texas HoldEm are all accused to sharing information about users and their friends to advertisers without permission.
